This is the story of the day I went on a date with my husband to Samsam Milmyeon Main Branch (삼삼밀면 본점), a great lunch spot in Dal-dong, Ulsan. It's at 7 Hwahap-ro 125beon-gil, Nam-gu, Ulsan.
What kind of restaurant is Samsam Milmyeon Main Branch?
Samsam Milmyeon Main Branch is a milmyeon (Busan-style cold wheat noodle) restaurant in Dal-dong, Ulsan, serving mul milmyeon (in cold broth), bibim milmyeon (spicy mixed) and dumplings. It's been so hot lately that I was craving something cold, and milmyeon was exactly what came to mind. We had a lovely meal!
Where do you park at Samsam Milmyeon?
For parking you can use the Daegyeong parking lot or the Paldo paid parking lot, and both give you 1 hour free. Just pick up a parking ticket at the counter.
At the lot where we parked, it looked like you get a ticket and then just have it stamped.
Seating and atmosphere at Samsam Milmyeon Main Branch
When we walked in, other guests had already arrived and were eating. By the time we left, even more people had come in. We had a tasty meal at this Ulsan lunch spot and headed home nice and full.
There's seating upstairs too. It looked like you have to take your shoes off to go up there! The flooring was different, which I thought was neat, haha.
Disposable aprons and a candy on the way out
Samsam Milmyeon has red sauce, so an apron is a must, and they have disposable ones ready. That felt hygienic to me. And on your way out they have candy so you can finish on something sweet!

At Samsam Milmyeon Main Branch, mul milmyeon and bibim milmyeon are the same price at ₩9,000 each, and a large portion is ₩1,000 extra. Extra noodles are ₩3,000 and dumplings are ₩6,000.

The boiled pork in the mul milmyeon is domestic. The menu lists the country of origin too, which was handy to see.
Table setup and tablet ordering
Each table at Samsam Milmyeon Main Branch is set up in advance, so you can use things as you need them. Even the paper cups are disposable! There's also a tablet on the table so you can order comfortably from your seat.
Hot broth on a rainy day at Samsam Milmyeon
Once we ordered, they set out the side dishes. Simple, but a good match for milmyeon.
Before the main dishes arrive, they bring out a spicy, kicky broth, and seeing it boiling away in the kettle made it taste even better.
The day we visited this Ulsan lunch spot was a rainy one, so the hot broth was especially nice! My husband and I were sipping it going "ahh, so good~" haha, so funny.
Mul milmyeon, bibim milmyeon and dumplings: what we ordered for two
The two of us ordered one mul milmyeon, one bibim milmyeon and dumplings. Everything came out and of course I didn't forget the overhead shot :) haha
With everything out, the table felt totally packed.
Bibim milmyeon ₩9,000: easy because it comes already mixed
The bibim milmyeon at Samsam Milmyeon is ₩9,000. It comes already mixed, so you can just dig in, which is convenient, and it was really delicious. I got curious what the secret sauce is 😭👍🏻
I gave him the meat from mine, haha. Eaten together with the dumplings it was even better. It's topped with myeongtae-hoe (seasoned raw pollock), which is great!
Mul milmyeon ₩9,000: 2 vinegar, 2 mustard
The mul milmyeon is also ₩9,000, the same price as the bibim. This was the one I chose, and we shared it by scooping some onto a small plate. Nothing beats this in weather like this 😭
They also set out vinegar and mustard for it. I gave it 2 rounds of vinegar and 2 of mustard. The portion was big, so I left a little, but looking at the photos again I miss being at that Ulsan lunch spot.
Dumplings ₩6,000: thin skin, full filling
The dumplings at Samsam Milmyeon are ₩6,000. They looked delicious from the very first glance, and I liked that the skin is thin.
They're packed with filling, which was totally my thing. Dipped in the special sauce they give you, they were heavenly.
