If you want a hearty meal in Gwangalli, Busan, I recommend the pot rice restaurant Solsot Gwangalli (솔솥 광안리점). It's just a 1-minute walk from Gwangalli Beach, so it's easy to reach, and at lunchtime both locals and tourists fill the place. With lots of pot rice choices and crispy nurungji (scorched rice) to finish, it was a really satisfying meal :)
Where is Solsot Gwangalli and where do you park?

Solsot Gwangalli is a 4-minute walk from Geumnyeonsan Station on Line 2 and a 1-minute walk from Gwangalli Beach. It's a great location, and easy to get to by public transport too 👍
The restaurant has no parking lot of its own, so if you drive you'll need a nearby paid lot. Options include the Bada parking lot, the Jiwell parking lot, the Eonyang Bulgogi Busanjip parking lot and the Gwangalli Beach public parking lot. We used the private lot in Namcheon, the closest one to Solsot.
Solsot Gwangalli atmosphere and seating

The interior has a wood-tone design that makes it comfortable to eat in. There are over 50 seats, from tables for 1–2 people up, and the room felt pleasant. It was busy, but we could still eat comfortably, and the staff were kind.

Waiting and bringing pets
As a popular lunch spot, there can be a wait, but Solsot Gwangalli has plenty of seats and no break time, so you shouldn't have to wait long. Pets are also allowed in a carrier or pet stroller, so if you're looking for a pet-friendly restaurant in Gwangalli, Solsot is worth a visit.
What pot rice is on the menu at Solsot Gwangalli?

As a proper Korean restaurant in Gwangalli, Solsot Gwangalli serves freshly cooked pot rice (solbap) with a range of side dishes, good for eating solo or with anyone.

- Freshwater eel pot rice
- Steak pot rice
- Chopping-board scallop pot rice
- Abalone pot rice
- Salmon pot rice
- Boneless hairtail pot rice
- New: lobster and shrimp pot rice
- Pork and bracken pot rice
- Cockle pot rice
- Cheese dak-galbi (spicy chicken) pot rice
There are so many kinds of pot rice that it was hard to decide what to eat 😅

You can also get sides like cheese pork cutlet, tasty yurinki (fried chicken with citrus soy sauce) and house-made fried shrimp~~
How do the freshwater eel pot rice, steak pot rice and yurinki taste?

The pot rice comes in so many kinds that everyone can eat to their own taste. We ordered the two that looked most appetizing, the freshwater eel pot rice and the steak pot rice, plus yurinki as a side.

- Freshwater eel pot rice ₩25,900
- Steak pot rice ₩17,900
- Yurinki ₩8,500
Freshwater eel pot rice
The eel pot rice is big, haha. The pot is packed with eel, and my mouth watered the second I lifted the lid 🤤

You don't mix the eel pot rice. You scoop it up a spoonful at a time with the eel on top, and each bite is full of soft, rich eel. If you like unagi rice bowls, you'll be happy with this one.

Steak pot rice
I ordered the steak pot rice because I wanted something more filling, and it looked great from the start, with tender, generous steak. Mixing in the sauce that came with it brought out much more savory depth and flavor.

Yurinki and a nurungji finish
The yurinki I ordered as a side was sweet, sour and a little spicy, and went well with the leftover pot rice. We finished with toasty nurungji, haha. So filling 🤭
Why I recommend Solsot Gwangalli for a Gwangalli lunch
Solsot Gwangalli is a high-satisfaction pick if you want a hearty meal near Gwangalli Beach. The many kinds of pot rice make it easy to choose by taste, and ending with nurungji wrapped things up nicely. Pets are allowed too, so it's worth a visit when you're looking for a Korean restaurant or lunch spot in Gwangalli :)
