Rainy weather and nighttime driving had made my view feel frustratingly hazy because of oil film on the glass, so I used AutoGrooming Clean View Car Glass Oil-Film Remover. I tried it directly on my vehicle’s glass and looked at both the cleaning process and how it looked afterward.

What were the contents and what did it feel like to clean with?

The solution and a dedicated towel came together. I had been worried that removing oil film would mean rubbing hard for a long time, but cleaning with the included towel this time did not take much effort.

The original post says that one bottle can be used around three to four times or more for an entire vehicle. It also says that getting it on rubber molding does not cause a whitening effect, but I did not separately document repeated-use counts or test it on molding.

Overview of the AutoGrooming Clean View oil-film remover contents

What order did I use it in on car glass?

What condition was the glass in when I sprayed the solution?

I sprayed the solution evenly over the glass while plenty of water was still left on the surface.

How much did I rub with the dedicated towel?

Using the included dedicated towel, I rubbed the broad surface about five times. I kept wiping until the round beads disappeared and it felt as though the solution was adhering to the glass.

The original post also included a tip: when using it somewhere other than a car wash, a damp towel makes the job easier.

How did I finish after wiping?

I finished by rinsing thoroughly with clean water. The glass felt clearer and more transparent than before once I was done. The original post also introduces it for removing water stains from bathroom shower booths, but does not specifically document that process or its results.

What did I like most after using it myself?

While cleaning my mother’s car at night, I wiped the side mirrors too. Having used it myself, I liked most how simple the process was—spray the solution, rub with the towel, then rinse—and that I could do it without much effort.

The included dedicated towel and the easy cleaning feel were what stayed with me from this use. For someone like me who had found oil-film removal bothersome, it was a product that made it feel less daunting.
