Every time I washed my car, removing the oil film felt difficult and inconvenient. This time, I received and tried AutoGrooming Clean View car glass oil-film remover.
Oil film is what makes you take notice when the glass looks hazy or lights smear even with the wipers running on a rainy day. I used Clean View, a car-wash product for removing the oily film that builds up on glass.
How much effort and time did oil-film removal take?
With the oil-film removers I had used before, I had to scrub so hard that my arms hurt. With Clean View, it felt like the film came off even with a light wipe using the dedicated towel, so the job felt less demanding.
For me, it took about 10 minutes to wipe not only the windshield but also the side windows and rear window. The product and dedicated towel came together, which was convenient because I did not need to prepare a towel separately.
What does it say about rubber molding and uses per bottle?
Clean View is presented as a product designed so you do not have to worry about whitening if the solution gets on rubber molding. Still, this point should be viewed separately from results I personally confirmed.
Depending on vehicle size, one bottle is described as good for about three to four or more uses. Being able to use it several times felt economical, but I did not record the number of uses through finishing the bottle or its purchase price.
How did I use it on wet glass?
- With the glass still thoroughly wet, I sprayed the solution evenly over it.
- Using the enclosed dedicated towel, I rubbed a wide area about five times. While working, the solution seemed to cling to the glass.
- I rinsed it thoroughly with clean water. After rinsing, the glass looked clearer to me.
Did I try it on shower-booth water stains too?
Besides car glass, I also tried it on water stains in my bathroom shower booth, and in my use, I felt it helped remove them. What I liked most this time was that I did not have to scrub hard, making glass care feel less inconvenient.
