Cleansing balm for oily-combo summer skin: HEEDA Charcoal
In short
HEEDA Jirisan Moist Charcoal Cleansing Balm is a Korean cleansing balm tested on oily-outside, dry-inside skin for summer sebum and makeup removal. It spread smoothly in a small amount, but tint remained after rinsing and required a second cleanse; a gentle balm with a caveat for long-wearing tint.

How did it feel on oily-outside, dry-inside skin?

I was worried about summer sebum and blackheads, so I used it to remove makeup. The balm was black and had a subtle mint scent. As I massaged it in, the balm spread smoothly like an oil, and it never felt heavy or irritating.

After cleansing, my usual feeling of dryness beneath the surface was less noticeable, and my skin felt moisturized. The brand says it contains Jirisan charcoal and introduces it as a vegan product.

How well did it remove makeup?

I tested Kiss Me tint and eyeliner, which are known to be long-lasting, along with Wakemake mascara, applying amounts similar to my usual makeup on my arm. A small amount spread smoothly when I rubbed it in, and after about 10 rubs, most of the makeup was gone.

After rinsing with water, a little of the tint still seemed to remain. So when cleansing, I added water little by little to emulsify it, then did a second cleanse with a light cleansing foam.

Were the container and spatula easy to use?

I thought the black packaging and the color of the balm suited the product concept well. The spatula was built into the inside of the lid and was fixed fairly firmly, enough that it did not come off easily during use.
