I took my husband's shaggy, overgrown hair to Toro With Geek Singeumho Branch (토로위드긱 신금호점), a men's hair salon in Singeumho! It's hard to find a place that does men's hair well, but this time I found one I really love.

Toro With Geek Singeumho Branch is on the 2nd floor of a building 187m from Exit 5 of Singeumho Station. It was really easy to get to by public transport, and being on the 2nd floor, it was easy to spot too.

Maybe because it's a men's-only salon, the dark mood was fun and I liked it. 💇‍♂️

How did the booking and consultation go?

We booked ahead through Naver. No waiting, we were taken right in, so convenient!

Chief designer Loco came over himself and gave a really thorough consultation, even asking about my husband's face shape and how he usually styles his hair.

What my husband chose: iron perm (down perm included)

After the consultation, my husband decided on an iron perm with a down perm included! The price felt reasonable for the skill, so it was an easy choice.

Since the package includes a detailed down perm, you really get good value for money.

The process, from cut to down perm to semi-leaf perm

First, a rough cut to shape things up

Before starting the down perm, designer Loco carefully trimmed the hair first. He was really meticulous about it 👍

Down perm on the sides and back, then heat treatment

Then came the down perm, and the way he pressed the sides and back down so tight was amazing.

After setting it, he did the heat treatment!

Iron perm for a volume-boosted semi-leaf perm

Next he added volume with the iron perm and designed a semi-leaf perm look, and wow..

Can a person change this much? Haha

How did the semi-leaf perm turn out?

The semi-leaf perm at Toro With Geek Singeumho Branch was perfect, from the cut line to the perm waves! The sides drop so cleanly that the signature semi-leaf perm feel really comes through.

My husband was happy that it's so easy to style, too! The quality made me say "insane" out loud.
