I was looking for a café with a nice atmosphere in Gangnam and ended up at Something About Coffee (썸띵어바웃커피) ☕️ The coffee is famous, but I'd read lots of reviews saying the dessert range is really wide, so I went with high hopes, and the moment I walked in I couldn't take my eyes off the dessert showcase 😋 The café uses an entire building, so it's spacious and relaxed, and really good for staying a long time.
Where is Something About Coffee and how do you get there?
Something About Coffee is at 30 Gangnam-daero 102-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, halfway between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station, so you can walk from either one. It's open daily 11:00–22:30, and there's no parking lot of its own, so you'll need a nearby public car park.

It sits between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station, so it's an easy walk from both.

The exterior already feels stylish, with big open windows, so I was pumped before even stepping inside 🤍
A whole-building café on floors 1–3: what's the atmosphere like?
Something About Coffee is a big café using the entire building from the 1st to the 3rd floor, so there was really plenty of seating. The interior is a clean style that balances wood tones and white.

Each floor has a slightly different mood, but overall the clean wood-and-white interior made it comfortable wherever I sat.

What desserts are in the Something About Coffee bakery zone?
The bakery zone in the middle of Something About Coffee had seasonal cakes, cake slices, financiers, cookies, scones, egg cookies and more. The central bakery zone looks so good that you'll stop and browse at least once as you walk past.

Seasonal cakes, slices, financiers, cookies, scones, egg cookies... the display was packed, and everything looked so tempting that choosing took me forever 😂

Signature items like cheesecake and fruit cake, plus seasonal desserts, were all on offer, so dessert lovers will probably be very happy here.

Neighbors, is the egg cookie a regular thing…? I know egg tarts, but I'd never seen an egg cookie before!!! I was so curious about the texture and taste that I put it straight on my plate, hahaha 🍳
What did I order at Something About Coffee?
This time at Something About Coffee I ordered two drinks and two desserts.

- Iced Americano
- Matcha cream cold brew
- Sweet corn cheesecake (chodang-oksusu, a sweet Korean corn variety)
- Egg cookie

How were the iced Americano and the matcha cream cold brew?
The iced Americano at Something About Coffee is a clean style without strong acidity, so it's an easy drink for anyone ☕ A nutty flavor comes through gently and the finish is clean, so it goes really well with desserts.
The matcha cream cold brew is one I personally really recommend 🍵 A thick, rich matcha cream is piled generously on strong cold brew, and the bitter aroma of matcha pairs so well with the soft cream. At first even just spooning up the cream is nutty and smooth, and drunk together with the coffee the sweetness flows naturally into a deep coffee flavor, the kind of taste you keep thinking about. It isn't too sweet, so I enjoyed it to the end, and matcha lovers will probably be satisfied.

As a bread lover, it would be a shame to skip dessert, hahaha 🍞
How was the sweet corn cheesecake?

The sweet corn cheesecake was topped with plenty of yellow corn, so it looked delicious just sitting there 🌽 The first bite brings the sweet flavor of the corn, followed by soft, rich cheesecake, and the combination is really good. The cheese isn't too heavy, so I never got tired of it, and the balance of sweet and nutty was spot on.
What's the texture of the egg cookie, my first one ever?

This was the one I was most curious about, the egg cookie ^_^🍪 The egg cookie at Something About Coffee is crisp outside and soft inside, and that texture is really charming. A subtle butter flavor spreads and the sweetness isn't overdone, so I kept reaching for more.
My honest review of Something About Coffee
Something About Coffee is spacious with a lovely atmosphere, a café that's really good for staying a long time. Above all the dessert range is so wide that choosing is fun, and everything looks great, so it's perfect for photos too.
The matcha cream cold brew was better than I expected, and the egg cookie is one I hope you'll try at least once. If you're looking for a café with a nice atmosphere and good desserts in Gangnam or Sinnonhyeon, I think you'll be happy here 🤍
