I wanted a change of pace, eating good food in a pretty space after a while, so I visited Mount Sunday, a well-known brunch spot in Yangsan.
I'd been curious about this place for a while — the atmosphere is lovely and there were so many reviews raving about the gnocchi. It's famous among people hunting for a Yangsan brunch café pasta spot, and it's pet-friendly too, so it seemed like a relaxed place to enjoy brunch.
What Mount Sunday looks like from the street

I liked the exterior the moment I arrived. It's cute yet clean and stylish. Not overdone, but with sentimental touches here and there, making it great for photos too.

If you love pretty brunch cafés, this Mulgeum spot will win you over from the outside alone.
Inside Mount Sunday: seating and bringing your dog

The inside of Mount Sunday was even cuter than the outside. The tables were spaced generously, so I could chat comfortably without worrying about neighbors, and the overall bright, cozy vibe made me want to stay a while.
It's a great date spot, and just as good for a brunch gathering with friends — perfect if you come with a few people and order a variety of dishes to share. Since it's pet-friendly, it's also a welcome find for anyone looking for a Yangsan café where they can bring their dog.
Mount Sunday's menu and ordering the gnocchi set

The menu at Mount Sunday was more varied than I expected. Alongside gnocchi and pasta, there are salads, steak, sides, and a wide range of drinks. Since there's a set menu built around gnocchi, their signature dish, I didn't hesitate to pick the set. It comes with a discount too, so if you want to try several dishes together, the set was a solid choice over ordering à la carte.
We ordered the gnocchi set: pumpkin cream gnocchi, shrimp bisque oil pasta, whole potato fries, and a soft drink.
How the signature pumpkin cream gnocchi tastes

The pumpkin cream gnocchi was, as its signature status suggests, the dish I was most looking forward to.

Being pumpkin cream, it was sweet, soft, and nutty in the best way. Gnocchi's signature chewy-yet-soft texture paired really well with the thick cream sauce.

Thanks to the pumpkin's gentle sweetness, it had a charm different from regular cream gnocchi. There was plenty of sauce, so I kept dragging the gnocchi through it all the way to the end.
Shrimp bisque oil pasta in the set

If the pumpkin cream gnocchi handles soft and nutty, the shrimp bisque oil pasta handles savory depth.

The combination of shrimp-scented bisque and oil pasta smelled appetizing from the first whiff. Switching back and forth with the cream gnocchi, each had its own distinct charm, and the pairing worked really well.

The noodles married beautifully with the sauce, and with the shrimp flavor added in, I couldn't stop reaching for more. If we'd only ordered the gnocchi, it would've felt a little lacking — I'm glad we got the pasta too.
The side of whole potato fries
The whole potato fries that came as a side with the set were quite a generous portion too. Golden and crisp outside, fluffy inside — the kind of thing you keep picking up one piece at a time. They were perfect for snacking on in between bites of gnocchi and pasta.

With hearty sides on top of the mains, the overall portion never felt lacking — we left satisfyingly full.

First visit to Mount Sunday? Order the set
Personally, I think the gnocchi-inclusive set menu is a good choice for a first visit to Mount Sunday. You get to try the signature gnocchi along with pasta, fries, and a drink all at once, with a discount built in, so the composition felt well worth it. For someone like me who likes trying a little bit of everything, it was an especially satisfying set.
If you're craving good brunch in a pretty space, or looking for a Mulgeum restaurant or Yangsan restaurant recommendation, I'd suggest Mount Sunday. Next time I want to try the other pastas and the steak too!
