Jo Hui-tak Coffee (조희탁커피), the café near Ajou University to know! The desserts get more varied and tastier the longer it goes on, so I went to study there too, haha.

Here are the opening hours for Jo Hui-tak Coffee near Ajou University.

Is Jo Hui-tak Coffee a good café for studying?
Jo Hui-tak Coffee is quiet and cozy with plenty of seats, so lots of Ajou students come here to study (this is what Koreans call "kogong", studying at a café). The inside is cozy and quiet whenever I visit, and I love it. It must be exam season for university students, because there were lots of students studying.

There are so many seats that you can always sit comfortably, which is nice.

When you want to focus, I think sitting at this wall seat would be great!
How do Jo Hui-tak Coffee's desserts change with the seasons and trends?
The showcase at Jo Hui-tak Coffee always has seasonal fruit desserts and whatever is trending at the moment. Korean dessert trends change scarily fast these days, right? The funny thing is that whenever I come to Jo Hui-tak Coffee, the dessert that's trending is always there. You can really tell the owner is serious about desserts, haha.

The sando (fruit sandwich) looks so delicious too 🥹 A homemade dessert café that makes smart use of seasonal fruit = super-duper-duper-duper good impression! In fig season there were fig cake slices, fig sando and even fig chapssaltteok (chewy rice cake), so just looking at the showcase gives you a happy dilemma. The cake slices change with the seasonal fruit too, and right now there's a fig fresh cream cake! Strawberry cake is coming soon~

Last time I came, the sandos that were super trendy then were out, which was great, and this time the currently trending fruit chapssaltteok were out too. Fig, Shine Muscat grape, and gold kiwi!

There are steady cake slices too. The chocolate cake always looks rich and fudgy whenever I come. Last time I had the melon sando, and the juice burst out of it. So good.

- Sweet potato fresh cream cake, signature chocolate and tiramisu are always good whenever you come
- Basque cheesecake comes in various flavors all year round

There's salt bread too. The pizza salt bread, sweet potato pizza salt bread and Buldak (spicy chicken) sweet potato pizza salt bread look like they could stand in for a meal for college students studying here.

The Americano at Jo Hui-tak Coffee is ₩5,500, and the signature drinks are the Tak latte and Tokyo latte (₩7,000). If you order one drink per person, you get a free Americano refill. The drink menu is varied too.

I ordered and settled in comfortably. The seating area at Jo Hui-tak Coffee is set slightly apart toward the back, which makes it feel cozy and I like that.
Weekend brunch order: iced Americano, salt bread and egg tart
On this visit to Jo Hui-tak Coffee I ordered an iced Americano, salt bread and an egg tart. I always order seasonal fruit desserts when I come here, but to get through a weekend brunch I wanted something more like a meal than something sweet 😉

How does Jo Hui-tak Coffee's butter salt bread taste?
They warmed up the salt bread for me, and when I cut it in half, the butter cave (the hollow inside) was the real deal,,

The buttery aroma was so good, and I think people who prefer a crisp salt bread soaked (?) in butter over a soft one will love it.

The iced Americano was rich and nutty as usual, and delicious. I like beans with some acidity, but with bread or desserts, a nutty roast really does seem to be the best.

What is Jo Hui-tak Coffee's cookie-base egg tart like?
The egg tart at Jo Hui-tak Coffee had a crumbly cookie base, not a flaky pastry shell. The salt bread alone didn't fill my daily bread quota^^; so I ordered the egg tart too. The filling was moderately firm and went well with the cookie crust, and it was more of a hearty, mild egg tart than a dessert. I like any egg tart, so I enjoyed it, haha.

Jo Hui-tak Coffee is always quiet and comfortable and has tasty desserts, which I love. The lineup changes with the seasonal fruit and the trends, so visiting is fun 😉
