Yongsan tteokbokki with water rice cake in the fish cake: Hyeonseonine
Hyeonseonine Yongsan Main Branch is a tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) restaurant in Yongsan, Seoul, that began as a street cart in 2004 and now sits in an alley by Exit 6 of Sinyongsan Station. On a weekday visit at 11:30am with family, the Hyeonseoni Combo Set at 26,000 won was ordered at medium spice: tteokbokki, sundae (blood sausage), assorted fritters, mini gimbap and fish cake, plus a water rice cake tucked into the fish cake, enough for 2 to 3 people to share generously. For a first visit to Hyeonseonine, the combo set was the easiest choice on the menu.
