It's been so ridiculously hot lately that just standing still drains all my energy, so I decided I needed some serious nourishment — off to the grill I went! 📍I visited Yuk Lab Yeouido.

Yuk Lab Yeouido's location: 2nd floor, right at Exit 5 of Yeouido Station

Yuk Lab Yeouido is right in front of Exit 5 of Yeouido Station, so the accessibility is amazing!

See the Yuk Lab sign to the left of the heart! Once you come up to the 2nd floor of Yeouido Jonghap Sangga, it's around the corner on the right, at the very end. Easy to find!

Every seat is a private room, with air conditioning set to 23°C in each

The interior of Yuk Lab Yeouido is really clean, and it's made up entirely of private rooms, giving it such a private atmosphere! There are 8 rooms total, and they seem to be connectable to each other.

We had a reservation, so everything was already set up when we arrived. It blocked out the noise from everyone around us, so we could just quietly chat between ourselves — I loved that 💜

And on a hot summer day, grilling meat can get really sweaty, but since each room has its own separate air conditioner, you can eat without breaking a sweat. The best 👍🏻👍🏻 They even set the AC to 23°C for us!

Side dishes and sauces set out on the private room table

As you can see, the table setting includes kimchi and pickles to cut through the richness of the meat, plus salt, cumin, ssamjang (soybean dipping paste), whole grain mustard, wasabi — so many different sauces prepared!

The 2-person Yuk Lab set: what's in it and how good the value is

Ordering was easy through the tablet too, and calling the staff over was super convenient whenever we needed something. We went with the 2-person Yuk Lab set, which is unbeatable value!

It includes jingalbisal (thick rib finger meat), lamb ribs, tosisal (skirt meat), and even doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) — all in one set (the doenjang jjigae is a real highlight). Getting to try so many different cuts of beef in Yeouido for this price is such great value 🩵

Grilled over charcoal: jingalbisal, tosisal, and lamb ribs

As soon as we ordered, they brought out sizzling, well-heated charcoal~

And right away they served up the vibrant-looking beef along with the doenjang jjigae.

From the right, the beef is jingalbisal, tosisal, and lamb ribs. You can also grill zucchini, potato, sweet pumpkin, and rice cake along with the meat! Another unique touch — up in the top right there's grilled cheese too 💜 Cheese with beef — how could that combo not be delicious?

Grilled cheese and vegetables served alongside the meat

The doenjang jjigae was also packed with tofu, mushrooms, onions and other vegetables. I had a spoonful before the meat even started, and they immediately brought us extra rice haha.

They placed each piece on the grill for us one at a time with the tongs. Beef really is best grilled and eaten piece by piece — just like yakiniku~~

Once the beef was cooked just right, we set it on top of the grilled vegetables and finally dug in, piece by piece~

Galbisal vs. tosisal: which is more tender?

We started with the galbisal (rib finger meat). It practically melted in my mouth the moment I bit into it — so tender the juices burst out as soon as I chewed, it was delicious!

Next was the tosisal. The galbisal already had a nice amount of fat, but the tosisal has an even higher fat ratio, so it was even more tender and full of juice! My husband said tosisal was his favorite.

You absolutely have to mix the rice into the doenjang jjigae — if you don't, that's a crime. It rinses off the richness of the meat so cleanly~

The lamb ribs: how was the gamey smell?

They put the last cut, the lamb ribs, on the grill. I was a little nervous there might be a gamey smell since it's lamb, but the taste completely crushed my worries! It was the most tender lamb I've ever had, with zero gamey smell.

The beef here was truly excellent, but I'd really recommend you try the lamb too!! I'm regretting the moment I almost decided to switch fully to tosisal. The lamb ribs here are genuinely delicious 👍🏻👍🏻

Finishing it off wrapped in grilled cheese

For the rest of the meat, we melted some cheese on the hot grill and wrapped the meat in it. The savoriness of the cheese paired so well with the meat, making it even more delicious 💜

If you're looking for good-value beef in Yeouido, or a private spot for a work dinner or a gathering, I'd recommend visiting Yuk Lab Yeouido and having some heartfelt conversation over delicious meat~! Today my husband and I really got that date-night feeling back after a while!!

Strolling around Yeouido after the meal

Yeouido really does have so much to see. From IFC Mall to The Hyundai, I could go every week and never get tired of it haha. Full and happy, we took a stroll and headed home! Enjoy a great meal at Yuk Lab, then go see Yeouido properly~!
