Gwangjin specialty coffee café for financiers and scones: Wonz Coffee
In short
Wonz Coffee Children's Grand Park Main Branch is a specialty coffee shop in Guui-dong, Gwangjin, Seoul, between Guui Station and Children's Grand Park Station. At Wonz Coffee the writer paired an iced Americano, served with the espresso on the side to pour to taste, with a financier, a plain scone and a raspberry scone, and was impressed by the free refill and prepaid point bonuses. For a Guui-dong café that takes its coffee seriously, Wonz Coffee is a satisfying pick.

A Gwangjin specialty coffee shop run by a national-team barista
I heard that at Wonz Coffee, a national-team barista does the roasting and the extraction personally, making it a specialty coffee café in Gwangjin. They apparently run it with high-end professional equipment worth tens of millions of won, like a Slayer and a Robot S.

The menu at Wonz Coffee is varied, too.

What is the atmosphere like at Wonz Coffee?
The overall mood at Wonz Coffee Children's Grand Park Main Branch is really calm and clean. There are seats for coming alone and quietly sipping coffee, and tables that are great for chatting with friends or a partner.

Iced Americano with a financier and scones at Wonz Coffee
At Wonz Coffee I ordered a cold Americano and had a financier (small almond butter cake), a plain scone and a raspberry scone for dessert.

There's a wide range of coffee on the menu, and the staff brought the drink to my seat and kindly explained the bean's character and the extraction method.
An Americano with the espresso served on the side
The most impressive thing about the Americano at Wonz Coffee was that they serve the coffee concentrate separately, so you can pour it yourself to your own taste. It's fun to adjust the ratio as you go, and since the barista set it up, the flavor really was clean and rich.

How do the plain scone, financier and raspberry scone taste?
The plain scone and financier were nutty outside and moist inside, true to the basics, and the raspberry scone was pleasantly tangy and went really well with the Americano.
What perks and events does Wonz Coffee offer?
Wonz Coffee has quite a generous set of perks: a free refill when dining in, prepaid points, a receipt-review gift, takeout and tumbler discounts, and a 50% off revisit draw. Let me go through them.

Final verdict on Wonz Coffee Children's Grand Park Main Branch
I heard Wonz Coffee also has a strong dessert lineup, like a cream latte made with handmade vanilla bean and a special syrup, and Basque cheesecake. They apparently also do takeout in a handmade canned-coffee format that keeps the flavor well.
With the free refill, the solid events and the excellent coffee, it was a very satisfying visit overall. If you're looking for a café that does coffee properly near Guui-dong or Children's Grand Park, do stop by!
