What is Mandala Indian Lounge in Hapjeong?

Mandala Indian Lounge (만다라 인도 라운지) is an Indian restaurant I visited while looking for lunch in Hapjeong. I like curry, so I went in with high hopes, and it delivered: tasty food at a reasonable price.
Eating out has gotten so expensive lately that even lunch can feel like a burden, right? But the lunch set here is ₩12,000 per person, so it was easy on the wallet and still filling. You get curry, rice and even naan, so I'd happily introduce it to anyone hunting for a good Hapjeong spot.

It's up on the upper floor, so you walk up the stairs! And then this pretty lounge appears.

What did three of us order from the Mandala lunch set?
Three of us came at lunchtime and ordered the curry lunch set. We picked chicken tikka masala and butter chicken for the curries.
With lunch, price matters, but if the portion is small or the combination disappoints, satisfaction drops. This set comes with curry, rice and naan, so it felt like a proper meal. Going as three people, we could also share different dishes, which I liked. If you're stuck deciding on lunch in Hapjeong, a set menu like this is a fine choice.
Chicken tikka masala vs butter chicken: how do they taste?
The chicken tikka masala lets you enjoy the flavor of the spices, while the butter chicken is charming for its soft, rich taste of butter and cream. Indian curries each have their own taste and aroma, so ordering two means you can alternate between them for fun.
Personally, I love curry both with rice and with naan for dipping. This time too, I ate rice and curry together, then dipped naan in the curry, and it felt like a whole different dish. With two curries, I didn't fixate on one flavor and got to enjoy a variety. Ordering different curries with your companions and sharing is something I'd recommend.

Which lassi to order: plain, blueberry or mango?
Order the plain lassi! It tastes better than the blueberry or mango.

What's in the lunch set: half curry, half rice, plus naan
In the Mandala Indian Lounge lunch set, curry and rice come together in one bowl, split half curry and half rice. Naan comes with it too.
It was convenient to get curry and rice together without ordering extra rice. There were three of us, and three naan came out, so we each got one.
The naan had a lovely crispy texture, and it went really well dipped in the curry. I could fill up on rice, then enjoy the curry with naan, so even the same curry felt varied. The portion was moderate yet felt generous, and with three of us, we each enjoyed our own curry and shared the naan.

Is the 12,000-won Indian lunch set good value?
One of the most satisfying parts of the visit was definitely the price. A ₩12,000 per person lunch set felt like a welcome price in these high-cost times.
When eating out, even a single dish can feel pricey, so getting curry, rice and naan together was a solid deal. It suits days when you want a lunch that isn't too heavy but still filling. If you work near Hapjeong or have a lunch date there, it looks like a reasonably priced way to enjoy Indian food.
I don't just look for cheap; I weigh flavor, portion and composition together. This time we got to try two curries and add naan, which left us satisfied.

Mandala Indian Lounge lunch in Hapjeong: the verdict
I enjoyed this visit to Mandala Indian Lounge, from the curry to the naan. Eating chicken tikka masala and butter chicken together let us taste two different curry flavors, and alternating between rice and naan was fun too.
The naan was crispy and great for scooping up plenty of curry, and the set was moderate in portion yet filling. Above all, I liked the ₩12,000 per person lunch price. If lunch costs have you down and you want Indian food at a reasonable price, it's worth a visit. This was a meal I'd recommend to anyone wanting good curry and naan at lunchtime.
