What was the atmosphere like on a weekday afternoon?
If you're after a café in Gongdeok with a nice mood and tasty coffee, Ieo Coffee Roasters is worth a stop. From the moment I walked in, the interior felt cute yet neatly kept, a place where you can happily linger. It felt clean and warm, and the cute character touches gave it real café charm.
I went around 3 p.m. on a weekday and the place was still packed. It felt like word had clearly already spread around Gongdeok. There were lots of foreign guests too, which gave it a slightly exotic vibe, almost like a short trip abroad right in the middle of Gongdeok.

Best of all, the kitchen is open, so you can see right inside. Seeing how tidily it was run made me trust the food and drinks more, and the staff were genuinely kind, so I felt good the whole time. I thought, a place like this is definitely going to do well.
How does the Bamibreeze cold brew taste?
The coffee I had at Ieo Coffee Roasters that day was the Bamibreeze cold brew. A gentle acidity comes up naturally at first, and the body gets heavier toward the finish.

The acidity doesn't jump out; it flows smoothly, so it never felt overwhelming, and it goes down easily, perfect for sipping slowly. It keeps the clean character of cold brew without being just light, so coffee lovers should be satisfied.
Grapefruit apple tea, a good alternative to coffee
The grapefruit apple tea I had alongside was impressive too. The bittersweet, fresh taste of the grapefruit syrup blended nicely with the bright aroma of the apple tea.

It isn't a fruit drink that's just sweet; the refreshing grapefruit and the fresh apple were nicely balanced, which made it good with desserts. I'd recommend it even to people who don't drink coffee.
Basque cheesecake, lemon cake and walnut pecan chocolate chip cookie
All three desserts at Ieo Coffee Roasters were satisfying. The Basque cheesecake had a rich, smooth cheese flavor, and a little whipped cream on top added a nutty sweetness that made it even fuller. The texture was dense yet soft, which went well with coffee.
The lemon cake exceeded my expectations too. The cake itself was soft, and the lemon aroma filled my mouth, so it felt fresh. The texture when chewing was nice, so it wasn't just a lemon-scented dessert; it was fun to eat. If you like zesty desserts, you'll especially enjoy it.

The walnut pecan chocolate chip cookie had a clear presence, packed with big chunks of nuts you can see just by looking at it. The large walnuts and pecans chewed softly, and the chocolate chips melted in, so it burst in the mouth in a really fun way. The nuttiness, the sweet chocolate and the soft cookie texture came together and matched coffee really well.

Own private-label goods and pets allowed
Ieo Coffee Roasters isn't just about drinks and desserts; it also sells a variety of its own private-label goods, which were fun to browse. There was tea and other items, and the cute character designs looked good for gifts. With little touches like these all around the café, just sitting there felt nice.
Another thing I liked is that pets are allowed. Being a café you can visit with a pet made the mood feel even more relaxed and warm. The cute interior and the pet-friendly atmosphere suit each other, and I thought it's an easy café to drop into in Gongdeok.
Overall review of Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch

The Bamibreeze cold brew was appealing for its gentle acidity and heavy body, and the grapefruit apple tea had a fresh, harmonious taste. The desserts, from the Basque cheesecake and lemon cake to the walnut pecan chocolate chip cookie, were all well made.
If you're looking in Gongdeok for a stylish, clean café, a place with tasty coffee and desserts, or a cute space you can visit with a pet, I recommend Ieo Coffee Roasters. I completely understand why it was busy even on a weekday afternoon. If I'm in Gongdeok again, I'd like to stop by once more.

The downside is the narrow alley, but still a reason to go back
Because of its layout, Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch is an old building converted into a café, and the narrow alley is its downside. Still, it's so well decorated, from the interior to the layout of the restroom, that it's a really great café.
Even when some ingredients had run out, the staff kindly suggested good substitutes and responded with a smile to foreigners and locals alike, and I thought this place has everything it needs to do well. Whenever I meet someone around Gongdeok or want a cup of coffee, I plan to go to Ieo Coffee Roasters.
