In short
Migsikga's Grill & Shabu Daeyeon branch is a grill and shabu-shabu restaurant on Suyeong-ro in Daeyeon-dong, Nam-gu, Busan. The writer ordered the ₩9,900 shabu kaljebi, added extra meat, and worked through minari (water dropwort) shabu-shabu, kaljebi (hand-cut noodle and dough) refills and a final porridge, praising the refreshing broth and chewy kaljebi. How does the ₩9,900 minari shabu kaljebi in Daeyeon taste?
The shabu kaljebi comes with 3 sauces: chili, soy and peanut! Besides the shabu-shabu itself, you also get wide kaljebi noodles and porridge, so it's a really filling meal!

The shabu-shabu has mushrooms, bean sprouts and minari in it, and the broth is refreshing and tasty!

Minari plus meat is honestly the best combo. The fragrance of the minari with the clean taste of the meat, ugh, so good! Personally, the chili sauce and the soy sauce suited me best!

For the price there are loads of vegetables too, so it feels like a healthy meal, which I loved!

Every table is stocked with candy, salt, paper cups, wet wipes and soy sauce, which was handy!
Is adding extra meat to the shabu kaljebi worth it?
Extra shabu meat is ₩8,000. Partway through I felt there was a little too little meat, so I added some, and the extra meat seemed to be better quality! The shabu special looks like a great value pick for students from Pukyong National University, Kyungsung University and Tongmyong University!

Shabu meat cooks fast, so fish it out right away if you don't want it to get tough!

Healthy and delicious, I was so satisfied with this shabu-shabu! The price is so kind that I plan to come back often! If you're looking for a good-value spot in Daeyeon-dong, I absolutely recommend Migsikga's Grill & Shabu! The grilled items are cheap too, so next time I want to try those!

Kaljebi vs kalguksu: what's the difference?
I think it's called kaljebi (a mix of kalguksu, knife-cut noodles, and sujebi, hand-torn dough flakes) because the noodles are wider than kalguksu and about as thick as sujebi. It reminds me of himokawa udon in Japan!
They put the kaljebi in for us, and it's much chewier and bouncier than regular kalguksu. My friend who came with me hates kalguksu but said this kaljebi was delicious and finished it all! It's so good, ugh!

Shabu-shabu porridge to finish: a tip for cooking it fast
Here's the tip for porridge: leave only about 3 to 4 ladles of broth and take out the rest! That way it finishes faster, haha.
The porridge was seriously good too, ugh! They add plenty of sesame oil and give you an egg, so it's mild and nutty. If you're looking for a good-value meat restaurant in Daeyeon-dong, I recommend Migsikga's Grill & Shabu!
