Sinnonhyeon hair salon: round-face mid-length layered perm, Park Jun

Today I'm sharing my mid-length layered perm from Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch! Of all the hair I've done lately, this one had no damage at all and styles beautifully, so I left totally satisfied. Let me start my super-happy review of the mid-length layered perm~!

Where is Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch, and what about parking?

Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch is at 14 Gangnam-daero 110-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on the 2nd floor, and it is open daily 10:00 - 20:00.

It's a 5-minute walk from Exit 6 of Sinnonhyeon Station, so getting there by public transport is really easy! It's on the 2nd floor of a clean, newly built building, so it wasn't hard to find! There's also parking for about 5 cars in front of the salon, but I'd recommend calling ahead about parking!

Before you go up to the 2nd-floor salon there's a price list, so you can roughly estimate the cost, which I loved. They're good at perms, but Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch is also apparently famous among foreigners as a head spa hotspot. (Foreign customers kept walking in,,,!!)

Atmosphere and facilities at Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch

At Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch, I stored my personal belongings before the consultation! You can even set your own password, so there's no key to carry around, which was handy~ They also have cotton swabs, sponges and the like so you can tidy your face after your hair is done. Nice touch, thumbs up~

The salon has a modern, clean white-toned look. The waiting seats all have outlets, so anyone waiting can sit comfortably. As soon as I arrived I got warm welcome tea, which put me in a good mood to start the consultation.

The precision scalp diagnostic equipment for head spa was state-of-the-art too! I could feel that it's no wonder this salon is popular with foreigners, haha

A hairstyle for a round face: how was the consultation?

Designer Yeeun at Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch took care of everything from the consultation to the final styling. When I told her my round face is my complex, she recommended a mid-length layered perm! I'd actually considered a bob, but she said a mid-length layered perm would suit my face shape and vibe much better, so I decided right away without any more agonizing haha. The consultation was kind, quick and accurate. She also told me the full price before starting the treatment, so I could relax and go ahead.

How does the Re-born repair perm work?

So we started with a Re-born perm, a repair perm! The Re-born perm is a perm that reduces hair damage as much as possible, and I liked that it was explained thoroughly before the treatment! I already felt like my hair would get better? haha

They carefully put on a bangs guard and ear caps haha. I had to get my old perm curls out, and in that process they added Shiseido moisture protein along with the repair perm solution! She explained each step as she went, which was really reassuring.

While I waited, I was touched by the handwritten-note cup holder with my name on it haha. I waited while drinking a cool tea.

Light + lots of layers: the design cut

Those tangled curls came out cleanly, and she did the design cut considering my previously damaged hair and my request for lightness + lots of layers. She's so fast it finished quickly, but I could already feel it from the cut..! Yes, I think it'll come out the way I wanted..!!

Then she applied heat and went over it once more strand by strand with a curling iron, Yeeun-ssam! Every step was really meticulous, and when I saw her use a different size of roller for each cut layer while setting the curls, I felt the attention to detail was no joke.

After: how did the mid-length layered perm turn out?

And that's how my mid-length layered perm was born! Since it's summer I asked for something a bit light, so she added lots of layers and thinned it out, and it came out exactly the way I wanted!! The hair doesn't fly about, but it's light when I run my hand through it, so it's easy to style.

It's a natural C-curl rather than an over-the-top C-curl perm, so the look is as if I'd styled it with a curling iron, and I was super duper happy. And it's even easy to maintain..!!

From the side-swept bangs down, the curls fall naturally in layers, and it looked so classy, neat and pretty.. Yeeun-ssam, thank you so much, really ㅜㅜ
