Recently I visited Jeongjiyoung Coffee Roasters Hwahongmun Branch (정지영커피로스터즈 화홍문점), a café in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, on a weekday evening with my younger sibling! On a cool evening you can sip a cold coffee while looking at Hwahongmun Gate and the stream path, so you get a river view and a greenery view together. Okay, let me start my honest review!
- Address: 375 Suwoncheon-ro, Paldal-gu, Suwon
- Hours: daily 11:00 - 22:00
- Sat and Sun open at 10:00
Where is Jeongjiyoung Coffee Roasters Hwahongmun Branch, and what is the atmosphere like?
If you come to Haenggung-dong, the Jeongjiyoung café is a must-visit.

The café sits right in front of the Suwoncheon stream path and Hwahongmun Gate, and with its soft lighting and exposed-concrete exterior it has total Instagram vibes. Even on a hot summer evening the stream keeps things cool and breezy, and lots of people were having coffee outdoors.

Jeongjiyoung Coffee Roasters has three branches in Haenggung-dong alone: the Haenggung Main Branch, the Janganmun Branch and the Hwahongmun Branch! Since the main branch is here, it's a café known and proud of its coffee in Haenggung-dong, so choosing it is a choice you won't regret.

The entrance is on the left side of the building, so don't get lost. You go in through what looks like an alley.
Which seats have the Suwoncheon stream view?
Suwon river view, Haenggung-dong café

The river-view seats are the window seats on the road side. There are plenty of tables further inside too, but the road-side seats are open windows, so you get a view of the stream path as if it were in a picture frame.

There's also a range of merchandise like mugs, drip coffee and beans, plus gift coffee. Since it's a roastery, the beans themselves are the brand, so it's a good place to buy gifts.

Are there seats for quiet talks or laptop work?
You can't see the river from the inner part of the café, but there's a calm, quiet space to enjoy. The seating is very varied, from a large table that fits 8 people to a bar table where you can sit alone and work on a laptop.

What I liked was that even though the inside is fairly spacious, the areas are separated well, so it isn't noisy and feels private. We came that day because I wanted a quiet talk with my sibling, and the secluded corner seats are divided off by partition walls, so it was a great café for chatting.

Can you get decaf coffee in the evening?
You can switch any coffee to decaf here, so even visiting in the evening I could drink coffee without worry. The menu isn't very varied, but as a coffee specialist you can tell it's focused on coffee quality. For people who don't like coffee, there's milk tea, grapefruit ade and Sangha Farm ice cream, among other things.

And it's a café that serves beer too, so you can have a cold beer looking out at the stream path! Desserts include a variety of American cookies, tiramisu and Basque cheesecake.
How were the decaf café latte and grapefruit ade?
I ordered two drinks that day.
- Decaf café latte
- Grapefruit ade

The drinks come on a cute paper tray. It holds the cups firmly, so carrying them over wasn't nerve-racking, which I liked haha.

Decaf café latte
Since it was evening I ordered decaf. Sometimes even decaf keeps me awake, but this time I drank it after 9 pm and still slept really well haha. The milk itself is smooth and nutty, and the bitterness of the coffee goes so well with it. A latte specialist indeed, Jeongjiyoung!! I admit it's a coffee specialist haha.

Grapefruit ade
The grapefruit ade had such a fresh-fruit feel that you could actually see the grapefruit pulp. It was cool, zesty and refreshing, and a perfect drink for a humid summer night haha. It isn't just sweet, it has a tangy side too, so I thought I should try the grapefruit ade next time~
