Suwon Korean BBQ dinner with parents and an aunt: Olheun Gogi Mangpo
In short
Olheun Gogi Suwon Main Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant near Mangpo Station in Suwon, Gyeonggi. The writer shared the Olheun Pork Hansang Set — 710g of top-grade Korean pork, 150g of hanwoo beef tartare, 100g of grilled cheese and a fluffy steamed egg — with her parents and her aunt, while a staff member measured the grill temperature with a thermometer and cooked the pork belly, pork neck and sirloin cap in order. Today I'm bringing an honest review of Olheun Gogi, a Mangpo Station restaurant near Suwon where you can enjoy properly top-grade pork and a gorgeous spread all at once! The meat quality was excellent, but so was the vibe and the side dish lineup — I'd strongly recommend this place for gatherings or dates. 😊
Olheun Gogi Suwon Main Branch: hours and parking
Olheun Gogi Suwon Main Branch is open from noon until 3am the next day. The side spots look reserved, but there are 6 parking spots available right in front of the restaurant.

Inside Olheun Gogi: the room seating and atmosphere
The first impression walking in was how clean and upscale it felt! Modern marble-look tables and a tidy interior gave it none of the usual chaos of a BBQ spot — it felt comfortable instead. Each table has its own smoke ventilation, so I wasn't too worried about my clothes smelling afterward.
The tables are spaced well apart, so it works for a cozy date or solo drinking, but there are also private rooms for 12–14 people and up to 30 people, making it perfect for family gatherings or company dinners. (They said full venue rental for up to 108 people is possible too!)

Every table has a T-order tablet installed, so you can browse menu photos and order easily yourself!
What comes in the Olheun Pork Hansang Set
We went with the signature dish that's satisfying just to look at — the Olheun Pork Hansang Set! The composition alone made our jaws drop:
- Top-grade Korean pork assortment (710g): pork belly, pork neck, upper sirloin cap
- Hanwoo beef tartare (150g)
- Grilled cheese (100g)
- Fluffy steamed egg 'bomb'
Not just meat — you get fresh hanwoo beef tartare, grillable cheese, and steamed egg all in one full course, making it a top combo for both value and satisfaction.

Beyond the set menu, there's a really wide range of side dishes, hangover-food, and add-on menus. After the meat, hangover options include doenjang sul-bap, soybean paste rice (₩12,000) and crab ramyeon (₩10,000), and sides & extras include hanwoo brisket, grilled cheese, grilled oil scallops, brisket doenjang stew, kimchi stew loaded with meat, and water or bibim naengmyeon (cold noodles). Calling staff or adding banchan through the tablet was really convenient throughout the meal.
Did the banchan suit my parents' taste?
The basic side dishes set out as soon as we sat down clearly had care put into them.

The default banchan matched my parents' taste perfectly, and they were full of praise. My family is from Gyeongsang-do, and my parents said the seasoning and cooking style felt so familiar they wondered if the owner was from Gyeongsang-do too haha lol. Honestly I loved everything too — by the end, the plates were basically empty.

The tangy-spicy dressed lettuce salad cut through the richness of the meat perfectly, and the soft braised tuna, deeply soaked in sauce, was a standout among standouts.
Staff grilling with a thermometer on the pan
710g of meat plus mushrooms, zucchini, and vegetables — pork belly, pork neck, and upper sirloin cap. We're not confident grilling meat ourselves... so it was such a relief that Olheun Gogi Suwon Main Branch offers a grilling service.
Staff use a thermometer to check the pan's temperature and grill the meat scientifically. They grilled the pork belly and pork neck together first, then came back once we'd finished to grill the upper sirloin cap, and even showed us how to eat the grilled cheese.

The meat was thick, so they grilled the edges carefully too — the first bite burst with juice and I was genuinely moved. It wasn't just me either; my mom said it made her feel taken care of and satisfied too. Highly recommend for a family meal out.
Don't skip the hanwoo beef tartare
Next was the hanwoo beef tartare (yukhoe) we'd been so looking forward to. The moment it was served, everyone got excited just from the shape and color. Breaking the rich egg yolk over the vividly red beef tartare and mixing it all together, the chewiness and nuttiness exploded in the mouth! Even if you order it separately instead of as part of the set, definitely try the yukhoe.

While we were eating the yukhoe, the pork belly and pork neck had gotten to a good grilled point.

Gathering it into a neat circle somehow makes it look extra fancy.
Salted shrimp sauce, truffle salt and wasabi salt
Truffle salt and ssamjang. The salted anchovy sauce was so good I dipped in it almost every time, while my aunt preferred the salt + wasabi combo. You can enjoy it however suits your taste.
Meanwhile the mushrooms were cut and cooked too — we were busy eating everything as it finished haha.

We were hungry so we devoured it all!
The fluffy steamed egg and the grilled cheese
The steamed egg puffing up over the earthenware pot was as moist and soft as pudding. One generous spoonful and the savory-salty egg flavor made my mood shoot right up. ♥ They gave everyone a small ladle and their own plate, so scooping and sharing was so much easier — a thoughtful touch.

The fully cooked pieces go on the side, and they're also great wrapped in wild chive leaves.
Tried the cheese once it was nicely grilled — it's a really nutty, standout dish. It was my mom's first time trying grilled cheese like this, and she found it novel but said the nuttiness worked well.
Next up was the upper sirloin cap — my aunt loves grilled garlic, so she was busy grilling garlic on the side. Cooked garlic really is delicious.

How many people can share the hansang set?
We finished everything and were completely full. It works for 3 big eaters or 4 average eaters. We did consider ordering more, but there was so much food that just working through it all filled us up.

There are mints at the counter for a palate cleanser, and near the entrance they also sell ice, coffee from a machine, non-alcoholic beer, and hangover drinks — worth checking out.
