I loved both the atmosphere and the food last time, so I came back again. This time I picked different dishes and got to enjoy some new flavors. The interior is relaxed yet stylish, and with good food on top, it's a lovely place for an unhurried meal. Let's take a closer look :)

What is the interior at Andover like?

Andover is said to be a space a family shaped together, from the menu and recipes to the interior design. The name was inspired by time spent in Andover, Massachusetts, and its food culture. Knowing that made the idea of a place for leisurely food and conversation even more impressive to me.

The space itself is one of the reasons I wanted to come back. From the outside to the inside, it feels like a stylish dining room. The interior is industrial, with an exposed ceiling, black piping, track lights and pendant lights.

Warm wooden tables and dark chairs take the chill off that look. The gray floor, light walls and black frames come together for a calm, refined impression overall.

A long run of black-and-white photos and frames hangs on the wall, giving it a bit of a gallery feel.

On one side, a blue wooden cabinet serves as a self-service bar, displaying wine and tableware, and adds a nice accent to the room.

By the windows, big panes let in the view and the sunshine, and the tables are spaced so it never feels cramped. The seating ranges from round wooden tables to square ones, so you can choose a spot you like.
Andover's house-made sauce market
One side of the restaurant has a small market space run alongside it. They sell house-made basil pesto and all kinds of sauces, plus pickles, jambon (Korean-style ham) and wine. I liked that you can take home the sauces and dishes you tasted in the restaurant as products. Being able to carry Andover's flavors over to your own table at home felt even more appealing.
New dishes ordered on a return visit to Andover

On this visit to Andover, I ordered the four items below. Choosing different dishes from last time let me discover another side of the place.
- The signature cod gratin
- Andover anchovy pasta
- Pecan peach & ricotta salad
- Galvanina blood orange soda
Signature cod gratin, 230g (₩32,000)

Andover's signature cod gratin, 230g, is ₩32,000. It's made with boneless cod, potato and milk, finished with herbs and spices, and served with grilled vegetables. The gratin comes out on a plate and looks warm and soft.

The milk-based sauce is creamy and smooth, and the potato adds a cozier, more filling texture. The boneless cod keeps its natural fish flavor while staying mild, and the herbs and spices make the taste richer.
Beside the gratin comes a plate of appetizingly grilled vegetables. Cherry tomatoes, asparagus, eggplant, zucchini and bell pepper were roasted golden, and the colors alone looked delicious.

Each vegetable has its own texture and flavor, and the gentle sweetness and nuttiness of grilled vegetables went well with the soft gratin.

I'd also recommend dunking the bread that comes with it deep into the creamy gratin sauce. The soft sauce soaks into the bread and adds a rich flavor, a real treat.
Andover anchovy pasta, ordered spicy (₩21,000)

The Andover anchovy pasta is ₩21,000, an oil-based pasta that uses anchovy and tomato for savory depth, topped with pine nuts, black olives and parsley. You can order it spicy depending on your taste, and this time I chose spicy. With oil pasta, what matters is how well the sauce coats the noodles, and here the salty anchovy and the fresh tomato balance each other.

Adding spice keeps the oil from feeling merely heavy and makes the dish more layered. The pine nuts add nuttiness, and the black olives round out the savoriness with their saltiness. It has a different charm from tomato-sauce pasta, so I'd recommend it to anyone who likes oil pasta.
Pecan peach & ricotta salad (₩18,000)

To balance out the meal, I chose the ₩18,000 pecan peach & ricotta salad. It's fresh greens with Spanish yellow peach, pecans and ricotta cheese, simply finished with olive oil and salt.

Orange peach slices among the green leaves look fresh and appetizing. The soft, mild ricotta and the nutty pecans come together, so one plate gives you lots of flavors and textures.

The peach adds a gentle sweetness to the salad, and the fresh greens keep it crisp and bright.
Galvanina blood orange soda (₩7,000)

For a drink, I ordered the Galvanina blood orange soda (₩7,000), an Italian organic soda. At 355ml, it's a good pick when you want an unusual fizzy drink with your meal. When I ordered it, they also brought two pretty glasses filled with ice.

That made the table setting look even nicer. The vivid red drink in clear glasses stood out on the table. The zesty citrus of blood orange and the refreshing fizz also pair well with the creamy gratin or the oil pasta.
Is Andover in Pangyo worth a revisit?

What's appealing about Andover is that you enjoy not just the food but the atmosphere too. Thanks to the stylish interior, you can eat in a setting that's comfortable yet refined. I came back because I liked my first visit, and this time I tried different dishes.

With the creamy cod gratin, the savory anchovy pasta and a salad where fruit and cheese work together, the menu felt like it had plenty of range.

If you're looking for Pangyo brunch, or want an unhurried meal on a day when you'd like pasta, salad and other Western dishes in a nice setting, it's worth a visit. I'd recommend it to anyone searching for Pangyo pasta, and to anyone who wants something different from their usual meal :)
