Haeundae bone soup restaurant with self-bar chilies: Byeolhaebyeol
In short
Byeolhaebyeol Gamjatang Centum is a gamjatang and pork bone soup (ppyeo-haejangguk) restaurant in a converted house on Jaeban-ro in Jaesong-dong, Haeundae, Busan, with its own parking lot and a spacious hall and private rooms. The writer arrived at 7:30 pm with a companion for two bowls of spicy pork bone soup at about ₩10,000 each, each with two big bones and generous meat and siraegi (dried radish greens), and found no difference from a ₩12,000 bone soup place in Suyeong where people queue. For good-value spicy pork bone soup with Cheongyang chilies added from the self-bar, Byeolhaebyeol Gamjatang Centum is a good fit.

I wanted a good-value, fiery bone soup, so I dragged my boyfriend to Byeolhaebyeol Gamjatang Centum (별해별감자탕 센텀점), a pork bone soup place in Jaesong-dong with easy parking!!

We got there at 7:30 and it's still really light out, wow.

Is parking easy at Byeolhaebyeol Gamjatang Centum?
Byeolhaebyeol Gamjatang Centum has its own parking lot, so you can drive there comfortably, and it fits about 10 cars. It's a converted house and the lot used to be the garden, so it isn't huge, but I think double parking would work too!
Byeolhaebyeol Gamjatang Centum opening hours and basic info
Byeolhaebyeol Gamjatang Centum is at 70-1 Jaeban-ro, 1st floor, Haeundae-gu, Busan, and it's open 10:00–21:30 every day except Tuesday. Break time is 15:30–17:00. It's closed on Tuesdays, but I hear takeout and delivery still run then.

There's a private lot, so you can visit by car with no stress.
Corkage is free, there are high chairs, and there's a kids' menu.

Since there's a kids' menu, it's a nice place to come with children too! The kids' meal is ₩5,000.
What is Byeolhaebyeol Gamjatang Centum like inside?

Inside, Byeolhaebyeol Gamjatang Centum is huge. You walk into a big main hall, and there are quite a few separate rooms too.

Two spicy pork bone soups, side dishes and the self-serve bar
This time we ordered two spicy bone soups (ppyeo-haejangguk)!! I've tried both mild and spicy before, and the spicy one suited me better.

The basic side dishes are radish kimchi (kkakdugi), kimchi, garlic, peppers, onion and doenjang (soybean paste) sauce! Extra add-ons (sari) are only available for gamjatang!! Lots of people ask about that.

If you run out of side dishes, just grab more from the self-bar outside. The pickled green chilies and the fresh kimchi (geotjeori) are delicious..!

The place is big, but it's cool everywhere. A restaurant that blasts the air conditioning without holding back, I love it...!! Also, definitely wear an apron. It can splash while you're happily eating.
How spicy and how big is the spicy pork bone soup at Byeolhaebyeol?

The spicy bone soup at Byeolhaebyeol Gamjatang has a nicely spicy broth, and once you mix in rice it's a little bit sharp? Deliciously spicy. Mild and spicy don't differ much in the meat; you only feel the heat difference in the broth.
Two big bones with lots of meat on them come in the bowl. I have a habit of stripping all the meat first, then putting it back in the broth to eat with rice, so I diligently picked it off first. There was so much meat.

Even though I ate while picking, there was more meat than I expected!! There were lots of radish greens (siraegi)..? too, which I liked.
₩10,000 pork bone soup vs. the Suyeong spot with a queue
The portions at Byeolhaebyeol Gamjatang are really big. Honestly, with this quality for ₩10,000 it could be even more famous.. so generous, I love it. The bone soup place in Suyeong with huge lines was ₩12,000, and I couldn't really feel any difference.
You know it's not done until you mix in all the rice. If you like spicy food, grab some cheongyang chili peppers (extra-hot green chilies) from the self-bar and add them!!

The kimchi is slightly fresh-style (geotjeori) too, so it goes refreshingly well with the soup.

Restroom and location tips
Byeolhaebyeol Gamjatang Centum has a clean restroom too. It's unisex, so lock the door when you go in.

Byeolhaebyeol Gamjatang opened next to Yangsan Wang Dwaeji Gukbap (양산왕돼지국밥). People who go to eat at Yangsan Wang Dwaeji Gukbap might quietly end up next door (we did, at first), and pork soup with rice and bone soup are different enough that I hope both do well. If you go to Yangsan Wang Dwaeji Gukbap and there's no parking, eating bone soup at Byeolhaebyeol Gamjatang is a no-regrets taste.
