Daechi-dong sushi weekend lunch wait, aged kimchi fish: Sushi Ian N

In short

Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station (스시이안앤 선릉역점) is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant in Daechi-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, near Seolleung Station Exit 2, where every plate costs ₩1,990. On a weekend lunch visit, the writer joined the waitlist, then ate showy single-piece sushi and several plates of white fish sushi with aged kimchi and sesame oil, finishing with orange and melon. The restaurant was hot inside, but Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station delivered on price, friendly service and flavor, making it a great-value conveyor sushi spot.

There are so many offices around Seolleung Station, and I bet everyone agonizes over what to eat for lunch haha. Some people probably eat with like-minded friends, some eat alone, and some go out with the whole team.

Visiting Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station near Seolleung Station

Is there a wait at Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station on weekend lunch?

Yes, even at weekend lunch there was a wait at this conveyor sushi restaurant in Daechi-dong. I figured office workers would pack it on weekday lunch breaks, but the area around Seolleung Station is actually pretty empty on weekends, so I was surprised there was still a line...

Every plate at Sushi Ian N is a flat ₩1,990, so it seemed perfect for eating your fill without any pressure. That's why I went haha.

Getting to Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station, and parking

It takes only about 3 minutes on foot from Seolleung Station Exit 2, so access is great. I took public transport!

But you can park too! There's a basement level 1 entrance on the left as you face the building. If it's full, the Arumville mechanical parking lot in front of the restaurant gives you 1 hour of support, they said haha (the fee is ₩3,000 per hour!)

The restaurant is on the 2nd floor, but the building has an elevator, so it was easy to get up there haha. The restaurant is right where you step out of the elevator, which surprised me a bit lol. I came at weekend lunch, so there was a wait, and I registered and waited!

What are the waiting area and interior like?

The waiting area is really well done! There are separate seats, a phone charger nearby, and a coat rack, so I thought it would be handy for storing your coat in winter haha.

The restrooms are separated by gender and kept clean haha. One small drawback, though: like other places, there was no air conditioning, so it was hot inside T_T Summer is so hard…

Seating inside Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station

Inside, there are bar counter seats where two people can sit comfortably and pick plates, and table seats for when a bigger group comes to eat together! The restaurant isn't large, so if you're planning to come with 3 or more people, I definitely recommend booking through Naver Reservation :)

Table setup and staff service

Every seat has pickled rakkyo (scallion), ginger, soy sauce and wasabi, and after you're shown to your seat, they bring you a broth haha. The staff were all friendly, so I could use everything comfortably without any hassle! They were just the right amount of kind, not overbearing, which I liked :)

Sushi types and side menu

There are so many kinds of sushi that you can pick from what's going around on the belt, or if you don't see what you want, you can ask and have it made haha. There are also udon, soba and ramen to go with your sushi, so keep that in mind!

If you join the Naver review event, they give you a drink or 1 plate of sushi, and takeout is available too!! Seoul Pay and Zero Pay work as well, so keep that in mind haha.

A banner inside the restaurant said they handle live seafood themselves every morning and never compromise on the freshness of ingredients. So I thought, okay, I can eat here with confidence haha.

What was the best sushi at Sushi Ian N?

My favorite was the aged kimchi white fish sushi (mukeunji heuksalsaengseon chobap), served with sesame oil. There are so many kinds, but my hands kept going to the flashy-looking ones lol. Picking only single-piece plates like that, I ended up eating way more than I expected..

Of course, the two-piece sushi was delicious too.. The aged kimchi white fish sushi especially comes with sesame oil, so it's nutty, and the saltiness of the white kimchi goes together so well that I ate it several times lol.

Kids' service and weekday lunch deals

For elementary school children and younger, they give free french fries and ketchup, and they said they'll bring green tea if you ask haha. On top of that, at weekday lunch you can get udon and soba at a cheap price! Overall the prices are kind, the staff are friendly, and the food is delicious, so I really liked it.

Eating at Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station

Orange and melon dessert, and final thoughts

I liked that you can finish with orange and melon for dessert lol. It's not easy to get fruit for dessert when eating out, so it felt even more satisfying haha.

The number of plates quietly piling up ..^^ I've actually been to another Sushi Ian N branch before, and just like then, I got a really filling meal this time too and was totally satisfied haha. If you're looking for a good-value conveyor sushi spot, I recommend Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station, a Daechi-dong sushi favorite near Seolleung Station!
