My partner and I really love pork belly haha. So whenever we're stuck on what to eat, we just go get pork belly, and today I want to introduce our go-to-go-to-go-to spot for Sinjung-dong pork belly!

A 24-hour BBQ spot near Sinjung-dong Station, with indoor restrooms
Our go-to Sinjung-dong pork belly spot is called Cham Dwaejitgan, located near Sinjung-dong Station. It's open 24 hours so you can eat meat whenever you want, and the place is genuinely huge, so no need to worry about waiting haha. Parking's available too, and it has indoor restrooms!! If you eat out around Sinjung-dong Station often, you'll know that restaurants with indoor restrooms are actually pretty rare!!! Cham Dwaejitgan, our Sinjung-dong pork belly favorite, is in the Sinjung-dong dining alley, so it was really easy to find!

What Cham Dwaejitgan feels like after 9:30pm
The inside of Cham Dwaejitgan, our Sinjung-dong pork belly spot, was really spacious. The restaurant itself is huge, so the interior is roomy too, and there were plenty of staff on hand, so service was fast even though the place is big. Since it's a 24-hour Sinjung-dong pork belly restaurant, we visited well after 9:30pm and could still eat comfortably, and there were still plenty of people eating even at that late hour!

Cham Dwaejitgan menu and prices

- Doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) ₩7,000
At Cham Dwaejitgan, our Sinjung-dong pork belly spot, we always order the pork belly! It's genuinely delicious. Cham Dwaejitgan has all kinds of pork cuts besides belly — neck, ogyeopsal, jowl — but we always, without fail, order pork belly haha. The naengmyeon (cold noodles) is great too, and so is the doenjang jjigae!!

The combo chart under the table kiosk
Cham Dwaejitgan, our Sinjung-dong pork belly spot, has a classic pork belly combo guide stuck under the kiosk on each table — check it out and try eating that way! As a repeat regular, I'll tell you: it's really delicious with garlic stem pickle,,, and eating it with grilled potato is delicious in a totally different way!!!

At Cham Dwaejitgan, our Sinjung-dong pork belly spot, the basic side dishes come out in an impressive spread! There's also a variety of sauces to go with the meat, so you can just eat to your taste. As a repeat regular, I love the combo of minari (water celery), garlic stem, and shredded green onion haha.

Pork belly for two, 32,000 won, grilled for you
Pork belly for two, ₩32,000. The first thing we ordered at Cham Dwaejitgan, our Sinjung-dong pork belly spot, was pork belly! Ordering two servings gets you two big cuts, and the ventilation system here is really good, so no need to worry about smoke!! Cham Dwaejitgan's grilling service is perfect haha. They grill it start to finish, so all you have to do is eat, yum!

Doenjang jjigae 7,000 won and mul naengmyeon
Doenjang jjigae, ₩7,000. Another dish I love at Cham Dwaejitgan, our Sinjung-dong pork belly spot, is the doenjang jjigae. It's savory and delicious with rice, not too salty but seasoned just right, so I ate it up happily! There were three or four big chunks of tofu in it too, so slurping up the broth with rice makes a full meal!
Mul naengmyeon, ₩7,000. The naengmyeon dishes at Cham Dwaejitgan, our Sinjung-dong pork belly spot, are delicious too! Last time we had bibim naengmyeon and it was really good!! This time we wanted something cool and refreshing so we ordered mul naengmyeon, and sure enough, the ice-cold broth with a couple swirls of mustard was delicious!!!

Thanks to the grilling service, the meat cooks so effortlessly!!! The staff's grilling skills are excellent haha. I've been to Cham Dwaejitgan many times, and no matter which branch, they always grill it perfectly!

Once it's cooked, they move it over next to the kimchi, bean sprouts, and minari like this, and you just eat it with the various side dishes! They move it to the low-heat side of the grill, so we could keep enjoying it hot all the way through.

The best bite: garlic stem pickle with grilled potato
At Cham Dwaejitgan, our Sinjung-dong pork belly spot, definitely try eating it a few different ways, and then stick with the best one haha. As I mentioned, my best combo is garlic stem pickle and grilled potato!!! The garlic stem pickle in particular is a little salty and a little sweet, which pairs so well with the meat and completely cuts through the greasiness, so the meat just keeps disappearing lol.

Adding black pork ogyeopsal, 19,000 won
Black pork ogyeopsal, ₩19,000. After the two servings of pork belly at Cham Dwaejitgan, our Sinjung-dong pork belly spot, we were still a little hungry so we ordered ogyeopsal too!! This was our first time trying ogyeopsal here, and with a bit of skin still attached, it looked really appetizing!

The ogyeopsal at Cham Dwaejitgan, our Sinjung-dong pork belly spot! If you like the skin, definitely order this and try it!! Personally, I still liked the regular pork belly better haha.

Finishing with fried rice, 3,000 won
Fried rice, ₩3,000. After two servings of pork belly, one of pork neck, doenjang jjigae, and mul naengmyeon at Cham Dwaejitgan, our Sinjung-dong pork belly spot, we were stuffed, but it felt like a waste to skip the Korean dessert of fried rice, so we ordered one to share! At Cham Dwaejitgan, you're not really done until you've had the fried rice...!
Cham Dwaejitgan is truly our go-to-go-to-go-to spot, and it's the real deal I want to recommend as the Sinjung-dong pork belly restaurant. The meat quality is great, the grilling service is great, and every side dish that goes with the meat is delicious too, so definitely give it a visit!!
