Where is it near Kyung Hee University, and is it suitable for solo dining?

1986 Shibuya Burger (1986시부야버거) is in the restaurant alley right in front of Kyung Hee University. This time, I went with my older sister for burgers and sides.

The Japanese-style interior stood out and was generally tidy. With seating ranging from solo seats to tables for four, I thought it would also be fine for eating alone.

What burgers are available, and how do you order?

There was a wide selection, including the Shibuya Classic Burger, Shibuya Chipotle Jambon Burger, and Shoyu Mushroom Burger. I could also put together a set while ordering at the kiosk by the counter. Once the food was ready, I picked it up directly from the counter.

What can you get at the free self-service bar?

What I liked most was the self-service bar. I could freely take several kinds of snacks and potato chips, and there was also mouthwash for after the meal.

The potato chips had free unlimited refills. Since I usually like fried potatoes, I especially liked being able to take as many potato chips as I wanted to go with my burger.

I brought back potato chips with pickles.

There were also several sauces for dipping burgers, fries, or potato chips. Being able to have potato chips and sauces at no extra cost felt like good value.

How was the Shibuya hot-plate Nobiru cheeseburger?

The Shibuya Hot-Plate Nobiru Cheeseburger I chose arrived with cheese bubbling on a hot plate.

I could add the warm cheese from the hot plate to the burger. It was a menu item that suited me well as someone who likes cheese.

When I picked up the burger, the cheese stretched out in long strands. The burger itself tasted good, and the glazed onions on top added flavor.

How were the fries and beer set?

The fries I ordered as a side had a different flavor and texture from the potato chips at the self-service bar. Their fluffy potato flavor came through well.

Each piece was large, which also made them satisfying to eat.

They also sold beer, so I had it as a set with the burger. It felt reasonably priced, and I liked the combination of beer with the burger and fries.

How were the Kuro Sakura burger and sweet potato fries?

My older sister ordered the Kuro Sakura Burger with 100% shrimp and a squid-ink bun. It had a thick shrimp patty.

It was generously filled with vegetables including onion and tomato. The ingredients worked well together, and the patty's slightly spicy flavor brought a savory depth that I found satisfying.

We also ordered sweet potato fries as a side. They were a welcome change from the sides I usually see at burger restaurants.

They were well fried, and eating them plain let me enjoy the sweet potato's natural flavor.

They were also tasty topped with the leftover cheese from the hot plate like a sauce.
