Seafood restaurant in Seogwipo for braised cutlassfish: Jejurowoon
In short
Jejurowoon Cheonghaewon Seongsan Ilchulbong Branch is a seafood restaurant in Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo, near the entrance to Seopjikoji and Aqua Planet. I had the A set with my child, including spicy braised cutlassfish, grilled tilefish, marinated crab, sea urchin miyeok-guk, and pot-cooked rice; it worked well for both of us, though there was no dedicated parking lot.

After finishing a day of water activities with my child, I went to Jejurowoon Cheonghaewon Seongsan Ilchulbong Branch (제주로운청해원 성산일출봉점) in Seongsan, Jeju, for dinner. I wanted spicy braised cutlassfish, so I ordered the A set, which also included grilled fish and soup that my child likes.

Where is it, and how did I park?
The restaurant is on the first floor at 101 Sinyang-ro, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo. It is near the entrance to Seopjikoji and Aqua Planet, so it was a convenient place to stop for a meal while traveling around eastern Jeju.

There was no dedicated parking lot. When I visited, I parked in an empty space along the road in front of the restaurant before going in.

Are there family seats and set menus?
The dining room was neat, with tables for four, six, and eight people. There were also high chairs, which made it comfortable to dine with a child.

The A set I ordered came with braised cutlassfish, grilled tilefish, marinated crab, and pot-cooked rice. For the soup, I could choose between sea urchin miyeok-guk (seaweed soup) and seafood ttukbaegi (earthenware pot stew), and we chose the sea urchin miyeok-guk because my child likes it.
There was also a notice that the cutlassfish was caught by fishing and could contain fishhooks.

How were the marinated crab and pot-cooked rice?
With pot-cooked rice, braised fish, grilled fish, marinated crab, and soup all set out, I could eat several dishes in one meal.

I started with the marinated yellow crab. The crab meat was sweet and plentiful, and it went well with rice.

I first scooped out the freshly cooked pot rice, then ate the nurungji (toasted rice crust) at the end of the meal. I tried the rice first with the side dishes, and the rice itself was good too.

How did the braised cutlassfish taste, and was there enough?
The braised cutlassfish had a pleasantly spicy kick, and the broth was savory. It contained several large pieces of cutlassfish, so there was plenty to eat.

I also like the radish in braised dishes. I put the sweet radish over rice, and ended up ordering an extra bowl of rice.

The cutlassfish had thick flesh, so I removed the bones and ate it from a spoon or with rice. At the end, I mixed the sauce into my rice bowl.

Did my child enjoy the sea urchin soup and grilled tilefish?
The sea urchin miyeok-guk had a sea-like aroma. When I served some to my child, my child ate nearly half of it alone. I mixed rice into mine and had it with the radish from the braised cutlassfish.

The grilled tilefish also had plenty of flesh. I ate it over rice with the pickled cabbage that came as a side dish.

I finished the meal with nurungji. I was happy with it as a family dinner because I could have the spicy braised cutlassfish I wanted, while my child could have grilled fish and soup.
