Extra Combo with friends at Extra Mile, a Gwangalli pizza restaurant
In short
Extra Mile is a pizza and pasta restaurant near Gwangan Station in Suyeong, Busan, and the fourth brand from the team behind Jeonpo Pickles and Free Will Pizza. On a weekend visit with friends, the Extra Combo brought a hot honey pepperoni and potato half-and-half pizza with no extra charge for splitting, plus bisque cream and tomato pastas and a house salad. The jalapeños Extra Mile makes fresh every morning kept the hot honey pepperoni clean-tasting, and the pastas alone are worth a return trip.

What kind of place is Extra Mile, the new Gwangalli pizza restaurant?
Today I went to Extra Mile, a brand-new pizza restaurant in Gwangalli. If you're from Busan you can't not know Jeonpo Pickles and Free Will Pizza, so when I heard this was their fourth brand I figured I could trust it and go — so on the weekend my friends and I ate our way through pizza and pasta, no holding back.
- 📍Location: 11 Suyeong-ro554beon-gil, Suyeong-gu, Busan, South Korea, 1st floor
- ⏰Hours: Daily 11:00–21:00 (last order 20:00)
- 🅿️Parking: No parking in front of the restaurant / nearest lot — Boseong Private Parking Lot

The exterior has a warm house-like feel, so it looked like a nice spot for a date or a blind date too.

Inside there's a bar table and regular tables by the window, and I liked that the full-length windows let in so much light.

It's an open kitchen, which felt hygienic and gave me confidence.

Extra Mile menu and prices: what comes in the Extra Combo
- ✔️Pizza ₩26,000 — hot pepper pepperoni/birria taco, potato/salad (half-and-half swap available)
- ✔️Pasta ₩18,000 — white ragu/peanut butter, tomato/bisque cream
- ✔️Sides ₩12,000 — romesco & roasted vegetables, house salad

- ✔️Extra Combo (3–4 people) set — pizza (hot honey pepperoni/potato half-and-half), tomato pasta, bisque cream pasta, house salad

Every table had cutlery along with a coloring sheet, so the wait after ordering was never boring. There were drawings of pizza and pasta, and even one shaped like Gwangan Bridge — it seemed like a fun touch for visitors traveling to Busan, too.

And finally, everything arrived...♡ It's a new restaurant, but since it's the fourth brand from Pickles and Free Will Pizza, just looking at it I knew it had to be good. I'm so happy a pizza restaurant like this opened in Gwangalli.

House salad: butterhead lettuce with bacon and nuts
The house salad is butterhead lettuce with bacon, nuts, and ranch dressing. Lately I feel like I can't digest anything too rich, so whenever I meet friends I order a salad too — and this one at Extra Mile wasn't just chopped vegetables with sauce drizzled on top, it felt like eating a full dish on its own, which was satisfying.

Made with butterhead lettuce instead of regular lettuce, it was softer, and it paired well with the nutty flavor too.

How Extra Mile's pizza differs from Free Will Pizza
Since half-and-half comes with no extra charge, we ordered hot honey pepperoni and potato split down the middle. We'd actually met at Free Will Pizza before with the same friends — both are delicious, but I felt a different charm here. If Free Will Pizza is about maximized toppings, Extra Mile is more about clean toppings working together with chewy pizza dough for a lighter, cleaner taste — great for lunch. Extra Mile is the new brand from Pickles and Free Will Pizza, names that always come up when you search for good Western food in Jeonpo, and maybe that's why, even as a new restaurant near Gwangan Station, it tastes like it has real experience behind it. Nothing felt unsettled or unrefined just because it's newly opened — the space is clean and the pizza is well put together, so I really enjoyed the meal.

Hot honey pepperoni: jalapeños cut fresh every morning
Hot honey pepperoni: pepperoni, mascarpone, ricotta cheese, pickled peppers. I was worried it'd be too spicy, but only the spots with jalapeño had heat, so even as someone who's bad with spice, I enjoyed it. I don't usually love jalapeños, but Extra Mile makes them by hand every morning, so instead of the musty, sour taste of store-bought jalapeños, it had a clean flavor that actually perked up my appetite.

Potato pizza: a Korean potato pancake reborn as pizza
Potato: dubaek potato, truffle oil, bacon. This one was seriously... so, so good!! The hot honey pepperoni was great too, but I want to say the potato pizza is basically a public service announcement — you have to try it. You know that crispy edge on a Korean potato pancake (gamjajeon)? It's like that pancake reincarnated as a pizza. Just looking at the potato topping on top, you can imagine the flavor, and the truffle oil and bacon push the savoriness even further — I ate it so happily.

Bisque cream pasta: lay the gamtae (seaweed) on top, don't mix it in
The bisque cream pasta has shrimp, Reggiano cheese, gamtae (seasoned laver), and parsley. Gamtae and pasta together — I wasn't sure it'd work, but if you like shellfish, you absolutely have to try this. I thought this was just a pizza place, but honestly the pasta alone is worth coming back for.

The shellfish-based bisque sauce and the gamtae worked so well together, it was almost surprising. Lay the gamtae on top instead of mixing it in — it tastes even better that way.

Tomato pasta with stracciatella cheese
The tomato pasta is made with San Marzano tomatoes, basil, and stracciatella cheese. The pizza was completely American-style, but the tomato pasta gave off a Mediterranean feel instead. Tomato pasta usually leans heavy, but this one was fresh and light, with the tomato's natural sweetness and a subtle acidity coming through nicely.

The first bite I ate plain, the second with the cheese mixed in — and adding the cheese made it feel like a whole different dish. I'd only ever thought of tomato plus cheese as baked pasta, but eating it this way was so good I wanted to go home and try recreating it myself!!

Final verdict: is Extra Mile worth it in Gwangalli?
Today's find, Extra Mile — a brand-new pizza restaurant in Gwangalli — gave us pasta, pizza, and salad, and it's close to both Gwangan Station and Gwangalli Beach. As the fourth brand from Pickles and Free Will Pizza, restaurants I already trust, the quality and finish were exactly what I expected. The interior gets great light and stays clean, and it's the kind of place that does pasta well even as a single order. If you're looking for a Gwangalli Western food restaurant or a Gwangalli pizza restaurant, I'd definitely recommend Extra Mile.
