Yeonnam-dong burger diner: Deom Burger vs Double size at Deombeogeo

Today I'm bringing you a visit to Deombeogeo, a Yeonnam-dong handmade burger place that's great for an easy weekend lunch around Hongdae, haha. Handmade burgers are good any time, and I heard a totally American-style burger joint had opened in Yeonnam-dong, so off I went. If you're heading out on a Yeonnam-dong date, come along!

Where is Deombeogeo Bonjeom?

Deombeogeo Bonjeom (덤버거 본점, the flagship branch) is in Yeonnam-dong. The burger chain has been popping up all over Seoul, and it turns out the flagship is in Yeonnam-dong too. All the really hip restaurants end up here, which is exactly why I can never leave Yeonntral Park.. ㅠㅠ

Anyway! Walk about 7-8 minutes from Hongik Univ. Station past Yeonntral Park and you'll reach Deombeogeo. It turns out it replaced a tokbokki (spicy rice cake) place I loved ㅠㅠ I really liked Happy Cheese Smile Tteokbokki.... Now I'd have to go out to the provinces to eat it, so I'm pretty bummed... But a new good spot has moved in, and I have to help Deombeogeo hold its ground, so I'll be coming often, haha.

Interior and atmosphere

The moment you walk in, you're greeted by an American-diner-style interior as hip as the sign. The premium fast-food brand DUMB BURGER grills its patties and fries its chicken in the store, and says it cooks everything to order. Is this really Korea? Deombeogeo Bonjeom makes you feel like you're in a restaurant in the US.

How to order and what's on the menu

Ordering at Deombeogeo Bonjeom is easy with the kiosk, and you can scan the QR code on each table to join the review event and get a free extra, haha. It's a Yeonnam-dong burger place where you can eat plenty, with a range of burgers plus Chili's cheese sticks and set menus. If you want to fall for fresh ingredients and thick patties, this is a must-check-in, one of the burger spots on the rise in Seoul right now.

Deom Burger vs Double Deom Burger: how different is the size?

After much agonizing at Deombeogeo Bonjeom, I ordered the basic signature Deom Burger and the Double Deom Burger. The regular Deom Burger as a set is plenty for an adult man on his own, and since the patties are real beef, I saw guys who work out ordering two burgers each.

Wow... the patty really is in a different class. It makes the glossy, juicy burger, dripping with juices, that I used to eat in the US. Can you see the size comparison shot? hahaha I'm amazed there are so many masters who make protein-loading this delicious.

How did the Deombeogeo patty taste?

The moment I took a bite, the patty flooded my mouth with juice. What is this, seriously? ㅠㅠ It made me feel like I was in New York and reminded me of the handmade burgers I ate in the US ten years ago ㅠㅠ Why didn't I blog properly back then... haha. Still, I'm glad I can do this every day now, visiting good places and introducing them to you.

Is it okay for a Yeonnam-dong date meal?

If you're looking for a Yeonnam-dong date course and want a meal in a casual mood that isn't too much, I recommend Deombeogeo Bonjeom. It's not only a great burger spot but also great for sunlight and interior, so photos come out well too. Worth a visit, hahaha.

The regular Deom Burger and the Double Deom Burger each have their own charm, so I feel like I need to try them all.... Next time I'll have to try the chicken burger too, lol. I was so busy eating burgers that I couldn't take proper photos ㅠㅠ Next visit I'll shoot more variety and order different things, and if there's another tasty menu item I'll tell you about it.
