What is Deombeogeo Bonjeom in Yeonnam-dong?

Deombeogeo Bonjeom (덤버거 본점) is a handmade burger place on the 2nd floor of a white building on the main road at 244-1 Donggyo-ro, Mapo-gu, near Hongik Univ. Station in Yeonnam-dong. It is open every day from 10:00 to 04:00, with no break time and no days off.

I took a trip to Yeonnam-dong for the first time in a while. There's so much around Hongik Univ. Station, and lots of great date spots. The keyword I had my eye on was: a Yeonnam-dong restaurant that does handmade burgers well. I don't know why I'm craving burgers so much lately, but I honestly think they're a superfood, with carbs, protein and fat in perfect harmony.

Deombeogeo Bonjeom is in Yeonnam-dong, and there are other branches around Seoul, haha. It's on the 2nd floor of a white building on the main road, and the entrance is at the back of the building! It also seems to be famous as a Hongdae delivery favorite, because lots of orders kept pouring in while I ate, lol. The line of waiting riders was huge!

Deombeogeo, the burger that makes you happy!! There are about 11 kinds. And there are french fries and Chili's cheese sticks, which are amazing with beer. These are really hot right now.

The DUMB BURGER sign is stuck cutely on the wall, haha. The entrance was easy to find.

The inside is quite spacious compared with the stairs and door, with plenty of tables and window seats. From the 2nd-floor window you can look down on the Yeonnam-dong street, and the kitchen is in plain view.

Now let's head inside. I was oddly curious what kind of interior it would have!

I was surprised at how big it is inside. The stairs and door are small, so I thought it would be a tiny place?! But as you can see, there were quite a lot of tables, and seats by the window too. I think it's also a good spot for office workers to come eat burgers at lunch.

You could call it a viewpoint overlooking all of Yeonnam-dong. A Yeonnam-dong handmade burger place that does burgers well, with a great view too!

Even the way to the restroom is very stylish.. the floor really catches your eye, lol.

You can see almost the whole kitchen, so I figured there's no need to worry about hygiene.

What burgers and sides are on the Deombeogeo menu?

The burger menu includes Pizza Cheese (Double), Dumbird, Dumb Burger, Cheese (Double/Triple) and B.L.T. Sides are french fries, whole chicken thigh, chicken tenders, hash brown, sweet corn salad, coleslaw and Chili's cheese sticks, and Budweiser was 1+1 when I visited.

These menu names are so explosive... There's even a Triple cheese, really?! Double already sounds delicious, but Triple would drive me wild, lolol.

Budweiser 1+1: a good excuse for daytime beer

What stood out most was the Budweiser! Beer 1+1? I ordered it, daytime or not. Honestly, I'd already had a nice cold daytime drink at a raw fish restaurant, so I'd have ordered even without the 1+1, lol.

The burgers look really appetizing. I think the owner is truly serious about them.

French fries, whole chicken thigh, chicken tenders, hash brown, sweet corn salad, coleslaw and Chili's cheese sticks! I'd really wanted to try Chili's cheese sticks, so I was thrilled to see them at Deombeogeo. Of course I ordered them, haha.

How were the BLT cheeseburger set and Chili's cheese sticks?

At Deombeogeo Bonjeom I ordered the BLT cheeseburger set, Chili's cheese sticks and a 500ml Budweiser. I loved the crispy grilled patty with the crunchy lettuce, and the cheese sticks were good enough that I'd come back just for them.

It feels like I finally found a handmade burger place worth saving on Naver Map. The burger is great, but the cheese sticks, seriously.. I want to come back just for these.

Here's the spread, haha. The burger and french fries come as a set, and I ordered the cheese sticks extra. Come to think of it, I was so focused on the beer that I never touched the cola, lol.

The patty looks like a normal one, but the meat was beyond words. I think it was properly grilled. I could feel the crispiness too, a tsunami of emotion. The lettuce kept its crunchy texture too, so the combination felt really good, haha.

They say even a shoe tastes good if you deep-fry it.. the potatoes and cheese sticks were fried, and I don't even need to say more.

They also give you a dedicated sauce for the Chili's cheese sticks. Dunk them in and it's pure bliss, seriously ㅠㅠ As a beer snack, if full marks are 100, this is 200.

A 500ml Budweiser with burgers at Deombeogeo

After a short wait, the beer arrived. Can you feel how cold it is through the photo? It was sneakily hot that day, and one cold beer made me forget all about it, lol.

Once the beer is here, a clink is the golden rule!! I gulped it down. Budweiser is honestly one of my top-tier beers.

Sauce on the bun, lettuce, tomato, cheese, a meat patty, then the bun on top: a classic burger. But the taste goes beyond classic, it's wild! I had a great meal at Deombeogeo, a handmade burger spot for a Yeonnam-dong date.
