After-work pork galbi and Terra beer in Gimpo: Jeongwon Galbi

On a day I got off work early, I wanted something delicious, so I went looking.

Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch is a pork galbi restaurant at Guraeri 716, Yangchon-eup — a standalone building with free parking right out front. I'd had it saved for a while wanting to try it, and finally hopped over. Great parking, great atmosphere, and cost-effective marinated galbi — the kind of place I'd happily recommend to anyone.

Isn't it just so nice that there's a space for kids to run around right in front of Jeongwon Galbi? When I was little there were so many playgrounds like this, but as I've gotten older those spaces have shrunk and it's a bit sad... families eating out and playing together, ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ it brought back those childhood memories and put me in a good mood right from the start.

Oh yeah, this is real healing and happiness. Thinking back, when I was a kid there were so many places to run around, but at some point playgrounds disappeared and spaces like this became so rare — and here I am, feeling all warm and fuzzy about it.

There's also a coffee machine right at the entrance and bead ice cream for sale — a pretty well-equipped dessert system, don't you think? I already know that if kids come here, they'll be demanding bead ice cream — that person is me!

What the grill tables at Jeongwon Galbi are like

The inside of Jeongwon Galbi is completely spacious and well divided into sections, making it a great spot for a proper meal. Looked perfect for a family gathering or a somewhat private meal with friends.

Anyway, I sat down and looked at the menu, and the lunch menu was even more! — such good value, and the regular menu itself was reasonably priced too, so I happily picked away.

What's on the menu at Jeongwon Galbi

There's beef and there's pork, and I wanted pork galbi, so —

Ordered: Jeongwon marinated pork galbi, 3 servings

I used to be someone who liked raw (unmarinated) galbi, but as I've gotten older I don't know why marinated galbi with rice is so delicious... total rice-thief. It was so good that next time I think I might get 2 servings of beef and 2 servings of pork galbi.

They also do a takeout discount, so I thought families with little ones could take it home and grill it there — that'd be delicious too.

Banchan at Jeongwon Galbi: japchae and marinated crab

The side dishes are no joke, right? My favorite, japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), came out, and it's honestly my absolute favorite. The menu itself is solid, but the banchan were completely my style. The marinated crab was also totally on point... ♥

And then the pork galbi came out... wow, the visuals were no joke... you could tell the meat was thoroughly coated in marinade even before it hit the grill — passed the eye test.

Jeongwon marinated pork galbi: plenty of meat on the bone

Jeongwon Galbi's marinated pork galbi is the bone-in style, which I loved. I love the meat that clings between the bones, so I'm partial to marinated galbi with bone-in cuts, and this place had exactly that style, with generous meat on the bone too.

Mouth-watering, mouth-watering ㅠㅠㅠㅠ ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ isn't this no joke...? What do you think...? Watching it grill up golden brown in the marinade alone was exciting.

It felt like a waste to just eat the meat with rice, so I ordered a Terra too.

Nom nom nom, not exactly a wild drinking session, but sweet marinated galbi with beer is just so...good...♥

Going to a standalone restaurant building like this in Gimpo really brought back memories of going out to eat delicious food with mom and dad as a kid — felt like a little trip, and it was exciting too! And beyond the happiness the space itself gives, the menu was genuinely delicious, which made me even happier.

As for the meat quality... need I say more, ㅠㅠㅠㅠ. Look, doesn't it just look delicious? Like I said, tearing off that end bit of marinated galbi meat I love is pure happiness and healing~

A truly delicious dinner — perfectly satisfying for a meal with family, this pork galbi at Jeongwon Galbi. I want to eat it again... if I keep loving food this much, I feel like I'll need to earn a lot of money.
