Here's my honest review of a weekday lunch at Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch with my kid~!^^

When eating out with a kid, taste matters, but I also naturally check whether the space is comfortable for the kid and whether the seating is spacious! This time I went for a weekday lunch at Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch🤗

It was a day when Jeonghyeok was at daycare, so it was just me, my husband, and Ribin — a rare three-person lunch! I was looking for somewhere in Gimpo to comfortably eat meat with a kid, and this place had a spacious dining room, room-style seating, baby chairs, and a play area, so it worked out well for a visit with a kid~!

Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch is at 40 Gimpohangang 8-ro, Yangchon-eup, Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do, 1st floor. It's open daily from 11 AM to 10 PM, and there's a large parking lot.

The outdoor garden at Jeongwon Galbi: good for a walk with a child?

The first thing I noticed arriving at Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch was the wide garden out front! True to its name (jeongwon means 'garden'), there's a garden with outdoor tables, parasols, and even a moon-shaped photo-zone sculpture — a nice spot for fresh air before or after the meal~!

Ribin couldn't resist and happily went for a walk around the garden🥰 Kids always want to move right after eating~! So having outdoor space like this was actually a big plus for eating out with a kid!

There was also a separate area outside that looked good for family visitors to linger after eating, and overall the scale felt generous. Among Guraedong restaurants, this is one worth noting if you're looking for a place for family gatherings or meals with kids💕

Room-style seating and baby chairs at Jeongwon Galbi

Inside, Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch was bigger than expected. Besides the main hall tables, there was a row of numbered private rooms in the back, which looked great for family meals or gatherings😊

When visiting with a young kid like us, nearby tables can sometimes feel a bit close, but the spacious layout made it much more comfortable! Best of all, there were several baby chairs ready, which was great for visiting with a small kid like Ribin~!

If you're looking for a Gimpo beef or pork galbi restaurant and care about kid-friendliness, this is worth checking! Going out to eat with a kid ourselves, we've noticed how much a single well-prepared baby chair can change your satisfaction~!

The playroom with arcade and claw machines

On one side there was a space labeled 'Playroom'🤗 With arcade games and a gachapon (capsule toy) machine, it's a nice feature for kids who've finished eating to enjoy for a bit!

It's not a large kids'-café-style playroom, but just having a dedicated space for kids at a BBQ restaurant was a welcome surprise:) Worth noting for parents looking for kid-friendly spots among Guraedong restaurants💕

Self bar: helping yourself to side dishes and vegetables

In the middle of the dining room at Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch there was a self bar😊 It was convenient to grab more side dishes or vegetables as needed while eating!

The area around the self bar was kept neat and tidy, and there were plenty of plates and utensils~! On one side there was also a spot for warm tea and self-serve coffee, good for a palate cleanser after the meal!

Smart touch: you take just as much veggies and extra side dishes as you need! When eating meat as a family, it can feel awkward to keep asking for more side dishes, so being able to grab what you need yourself was convenient💕

Jeongwon pork galbi lunch set for two, marinated and charcoal-grilled

Our main order that day was two servings of the pork galbi lunch set❤️ You grill the marinated pork galbi over charcoal, and the sweet-savory marinade soaked into the meat went really well with rice!

The smell of the meat browning over charcoal really stirred up the appetite~! The galbi was cut into easy-to-eat pieces while grilling, with a tender texture that was easy to enjoy.

With various side dishes filling out the table, it felt like a proper meal out even though it was just a weekday lunch! I came looking for Gimpo beef galbi but ended up satisfied with the pork galbi lunch menu at Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch too💕

Gyeranjjim (steamed egg custard), a must with a child along

I ordered steamed egg custard as a side to go with the pork galbi! Served generously in a stone pot, it looked fluffy just from the visual! Warm and soft, it was great to pair between bites of the marinated meat.

Especially when visiting a BBQ restaurant with a kid, steamed egg custard is a dish we almost always order:) It's easy for a kid to eat and adults enjoy it with meat too, making it a great fit for a family meal!

Since it was a day out with Ribin, adding this soft, easy-to-eat dish made the whole spread feel even more filling🥰 A bite of pork galbi followed by a warm spoonful of egg custard — the sweet galbi marinade with the soft egg was a great combo!

Adding hanwoo yukhoe (beef tartare) with egg yolk

The other extra dish we ordered was beef tartare (yukhoe)😍 The red beef came with pear, radish sprouts, and an egg yolk on top — it looked appetizing just from the presentation!

Mixing in the egg yolk added richness to the tender texture of the beef tartare, giving us a different kind of appeal from the pork galbi❤️ If you don't want to stick to just galbi, or want to enjoy multiple meat dishes together, pairing in beef tartare is a good combo!

Finishing the lunch set: doenjang stew and bibim naengmyeon, one each

After eating meat, you naturally start craving rice and stew❤️ For one of the lunch set desserts, I chose doenjang stew + rice! After eating plenty of the sweet marinated galbi, following it with warm doenjang stew and rice felt like a proper way to finish the meal!

It was tasty to save a piece of meat to eat with the rice, and the warm broth was satisfying too:)

For the other dessert, I chose bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles)❤️ After galbi, you start craving something tangy-sweet like naengmyeon~~ Marinated pork galbi and bibim naengmyeon is a combo that's hard to get wrong! A bite of the spicy-tangy noodles followed by a piece of charcoal-grilled pork galbi — the sweet meat and tangy noodles went really well together!

If you're ordering the lunch set for two like we did, I'd recommend choosing one doenjang stew + rice and one bibim naengmyeon to share💕

Coffee and a garden walk after the meal

As you can see in the photo, there was also a separate coffee machine in the store! (It's paid😊) Being able to finish up with a coffee instead of leaving right away was a small but nice touch:)

Especially with the garden space, on a nice day it'd be great to step out with your kid for a short walk after the meal and relax! Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch impressed me not just with its spacious dining area, but with these extra touches for spending time before and after the meal:)

Why Jeongwon Galbi was easy to visit with a child

That day, since Jeonghyeok was at daycare, it was just Ribin, my husband, and me😊 Since we go out to eat with our kid often, I tend to closely check for baby chairs, room to move around, and play spaces!

Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch had baby chairs ready, a spacious dining room, and even a playroom and outdoor garden — plenty of features that made visiting with a young kid easier! It was especially nice that Ribin could walk around and play in the outdoor garden after eating❤️

Adding beef tartare and steamed egg custard on top, we got to enjoy meat, sides, and a full meal generously:)

The soft egg custard in particular paired well with the pork galbi, and adding beef tartare made the menu lineup even richer!
