Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters (정지영커피로스터즈) at Lotte Department Store Nowon is a coffee shop in the basement food hall. I'm told it's a well-known coffee brand that started in Haenggung-dong, Suwon. Its signature coconut coffee is especially famous, so I went to try it.

I really love coffee, and I find it hard to walk past a place with good coffee. I especially like sweet, smooth latte-style drinks, so whenever I find a new coffee, I have to try it.

It's inside Lotte Department Store Nowon, so it's easy to stop by while shopping. I'd heard the signature coconut coffee was famous, so I ordered it. And wow, this is seriously so good, haha.

We ordered two coconut coffees and switched just one to decaf. I had the decaf, and the coffee was so smooth and nutty, exactly my taste. After one sip I understood why it's the signature menu item!

Location and atmosphere of the Nowon branch

The café is in the B1 food hall of Lotte Department Store Nowon, close to Exit 4 of Nowon Station, so it's easy to reach by public transit. It's a great spot for a coffee after shopping or a meal at the department store.

The shop has an open layout and runs mainly on takeaway. The clean counter and stylish interior caught my eye.

It's more of a place to grab good coffee to go than a café to sit in for hours. I really liked being able to get great coffee right along my shopping route.

The Nowon branch has familiar coffee drinks like Americano and café latte, plus vanilla latte, hazelnut latte and flat white. There are also non-coffee options such as milk tea and ade for people who don't drink coffee.

What caught my eye most was that you can choose your beans to suit your taste! Dark roast, medium roast and decaf are all available.

I've been preferring decaf lately, so I loved this. I was so happy that I can have the delicious signature coffee as decaf too, haha.

Signature coconut coffee price and decaf surcharge

The signature coconut coffee is ₩7,000 a cup, and switching to decaf is listed as an extra ₩500. This time we ordered two coconut coffees, one with the regular beans and the other switched to decaf.

The price of a single cup is a bit high, but it tasted so good that I was satisfied. It has a charm that's definitely different from an ordinary latte. I think I'll order this coconut coffee again next time too, haha.

What the coconut coffee looks like: coffee cream over coconut milk

The coconut coffee comes in a clear cup, so you can clearly see the white coconut milk at the bottom and the rich coffee cream layer on top. It looked so appetizing the moment I got it.

With two distinct layers like this, it feels much more special than a regular iced latte.

The creamy coffee layer on top looked especially tempting. My expectations shot up before I even took a sip! It's pretty enough to photograph too, very much a signature-menu feel.

How does the coconut coffee taste?

The coconut coffee combines coconut's nutty flavor with strong coffee, so it's sweet and smooth while you still taste the coffee's depth. I finally took a sip, and wow, this is really so good, haha. It was nothing like a drink that's just sweet.

I especially loved the creamy texture. Smooth coffee in your mouth with the nuttiness of coconut on top made me want to keep drinking.

It feels different from a regular café latte, so I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a new coffee. Personally, I never knew coconut and coffee would go so well together! It was really delicious.

Is the coconut coffee still good as decaf?

The signature coconut coffee can be switched to decaf, and even as decaf the smooth, nutty taste came through. This was the part I was happiest with on this visit.

Sometimes decaf coffee can feel a bit disappointing in flavor, right? But this coconut coffee kept the smooth, nutty feel I like, so I was really satisfied.

I especially loved the combination of coconut flavor and strong coffee. Even if you want to cut back on caffeine, it's hard to give up good coffee, haha. For people like that, being able to choose decaf is a big plus. I want to keep ordering the decaf coconut coffee from now on.

Drip bags, beans and merch to browse

The Nowon branch sells drip bag coffee and whole beans as well as drinks. If you usually make coffee at home, they're worth a look.

Drip bags can be brewed easily without a coffee machine, so they'd make a decent gift. There's a good variety of beans too, so it could be fun to find one that suits your taste.

I also found it unique that you can find everything from stationery like pencils and ballpoint pens to brand merch. It's not just a place that sells coffee; you can feel the brand's own atmosphere.

Coffee discount after a meal at Lotte Department Store

From October 1 to 31, 2026, the Nowon branch had a cold brew 2+1 event and a drink discount for food court customers posted. If you eat at the B1 food court and show your receipt or payment record, you can get 20% off a drink.

If you're planning to eat at the department store and have coffee afterward, it's worth checking out this deal. But the event period and conditions may change depending on when you visit, so check with the shop before ordering.

Why I recommend it to anyone looking for a café near Nowon Station

Visiting Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters, Lotte Department Store Nowon, I could see why the signature coconut coffee is so famous. I expected an ordinary coconut latte, but when I actually drank it, the creamy texture and strong coffee flavor were really appealing. The nuttiness and sweet flavor of the coconut matched so well, and I really enjoyed it.

And since you can switch to decaf, it should be a good choice for people like me who prefer decaf. It's also nice to grab as takeaway when you're shopping at Lotte Department Store or passing near Nowon Station. I think this coffee will come to mind every time I go to Lotte Department Store Nowon, haha.

My honest verdict on the coconut coffee

What I liked most about the signature coconut coffee was the nutty coconut flavor and smooth cream texture. The strong coffee and the sweetness of the coconut blend really well, so every sip was delicious.

I especially loved that I could switch to decaf and still enjoy it. It has a different charm from a regular latte, so people who usually like sweet coffee should be very satisfied.
