Today I'm introducing One Play Jamsil Branch, a Jamsil manga café where you can enjoy manga, OTT streaming and board games all in one go!

What is One Play Jamsil Branch, and how much does it cost?
One Play Jamsil Branch is a manga café about a 10-minute walk from Saenae Station, where you get all kinds of content for ₩4,000 per person per hour. Think of it as a kind of room café.

One Play uses the 2nd and 3rd floors. You pay on the 3rd floor, then head down to the 2nd floor to get a room. On the 3rd floor you pick a pass, and if you just want a regular café experience, you can have a coffee up there and browse the manga.

What manga does One Play Jamsil Branch have?
The 3rd floor has an absurd number of manga, from the must-reads like Detective Conan, Naruto and Dragon Ball to webtoons published as books. Manga cafés these days all have lots of books, but One Play has all the good stuff. They had Detective Conan, Naruto and Dragon Ball that I wanted to read, plus tons of recent webtoon volumes. I spotted Weak Hero and binged it for the first time in ages.

The 2-hour + drink pass and how payment works
Lots of people use the pass that bundles time and a drink, so we asked for 2 people on the ₩7,900-per-person pass: 2 hours plus one drink of your choice. The drink is normally limited to an Americano or iced tea, but if you pay extra you can switch to one of the fancier drinks One Play has!

There's also cake on display, so if you're coming for dessert too, a slice of cake from here sounds good!

After you pick a pass on the 3rd floor, you pay afterward. Make sure to keep the card they give you, because you need it to order food from your seat. You use its NFC function to browse and order from the huge selection of food and desserts!

Are the 2nd-floor rooms at One Play Jamsil Branch good for a date?
The 2nd floor has lots of rooms, and above all they feel enclosed, which made it a great space for a private date for two. There are also game machines in the middle of the shop that two people can play together.

Lost Cities, a 2-player board game for couples
The board games here aren't as varied as at a dedicated board game shop, but there are lots you can play with two people, which I really liked. Considering most people at One Play come as a pair, it's just the right lineup. We took a 2-player game called Lost Cities and played it together.

Which streaming services can you watch at One Play Jamsil Branch?
Inside the rooms you can watch YouTube and all sorts of OTT services, including Netflix, Tving, Wavve and Disney+, on a big TV or a projector screen. This might be One Play's biggest strength. Plenty of places get you as far as Netflix or Tving, but having the less widely used OTT services too was the best part!

What happens after your 2 hours are up?
When the 2-hour pass ends, nobody tells you to leave; the charge simply goes up automatically by ₩800 per 10 minutes of overtime. So when you leave, you only pay the extra amount. While playing Lost Cities we drank the Americano and cherry Coke included in the pass, and with so much to do at One Play, we lost track of time.

Dinner: Spam jjapagetti and Bburinkle popcorn chicken
For dinner at One Play we ordered Spam jjapaguri (Chapagetti black bean noodles with Spam) and Puri-kle popcorn chicken. We hadn't eaten before coming, so in the middle of the board games we ordered with that card we got earlier, and with so many menu items I couldn't make up my mind.

Both portions were quite big, and it's definitely different from the jjapaguri you cook at home. Jjapaguri and popcorn chicken eaten while hanging out somewhere like this were excellent. One Play had plenty of fun things to do, snacks included.
Verdict: a private room café date spot for two in Jamsil
I think the Jamsil manga café One Play Jamsil Branch is a perfect place for anyone looking for a date spot for two. There's so much to do, and I think it was an ideal place to spend time together!
