After a seminar near Nonhyeon Station, I went looking for a café with a nice atmosphere and ended up at Something About Coffee, a big Gangnam café famous for its desserts. It has a huge dessert lineup and spreads over three floors, so it was pretty and really memorable!
Where is Something About Coffee, and what are its hours?
Something About Coffee occupies floors 1, 2 and 3 of the building at 30 Gangnam-daero 102-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and it is open daily from 11:00 to 22:30. It is a 7-minute walk from Sinnonhyeon Station, and the dessert lineup is generous.

Something About Coffee is a café in Sinnonhyeon, about a 7-minute walk from Sinnonhyeon Station in Gangnam. I came out of Exit 6 and walked over; the road goes up and down in turns, so it was fun to stroll and look around the side streets.

When I arrived, a white, vintage three-story building came into view. It's big enough to stand out from far away, so even first-time visitors should find it easily!

There was a hojicha choux milk tea at the entrance, and it looked so classy and delicious!
What are the interior and seating like at Something About Coffee?
Floors 1 to 3 are decorated in an antique, vintage mood. You order on the 2nd floor and carry your order to a seat on whichever floor you like. The moment I walked in, the antique feel and vintage atmosphere blended together naturally!
The space is spread widely across floors 1 to 3, and each floor has a slightly different mood, so exploring is half the fun! I thought the 3rd floor was the prettiest ^^
The showcase and the baked goods table are both on the 2nd floor! You order there too, then take your food to the seat you want :) There are all kinds of tables, from group tables to 2-person and 4-person seats! I also liked that there's a secluded 2-person seat that solo visitors can use!
Desserts sold at Something About Coffee
The 2nd-floor showcase at Something About Coffee holds cheesecakes, fresh cream cakes and sando (fruit sandwiches), while the baked goods table has scones, cookies, egg tarts and financiers.

The showcase has many kinds of cheesecake, fresh cream cake, and even sando in all sorts of flavors, which are the biggest trend right now. The lineup is packed!

The baked goods table has scones like angbutter (red bean and butter) scones and kaya butter scones, and cookies like yellow cheese cream cheese cookies, mugwort pecan chewy rice cake cookies and injeolmi (roasted soybean powder) black sesame cookies, and more! The egg tarts and financiers come in lots of varieties too, so this is a place where you absolutely have to order a dessert with your coffee haha

The baked goods display area in particular is so pretty that looking at the desserts and choosing one made me so happy ^^ Of the big Gangnam Station-area cafés I've visited recently, this was the prettiest :)
What I ordered and how much it cost
At Something About Coffee I picked four items: a peach cheesecake, a matcha cold brew, an americano and a choco pudding cookie.
- Peach cheesecake ₩9,500
- Matcha cold brew ₩7,500
- Americano ₩6,500
- Choco pudding cookie ₩6,200

The lineup was so varied that we chose and chose before ordering our coffee and desserts! I'd heard it's a famous dessert spot among Sinnonhyeon Station cafés, so I came on purpose, and I was really looking forward to it!
How does the peach cheesecake taste?
The peach cheesecake (₩9,500) at Something About Coffee had thick, dense cheesecake topped with springy whipped cream and fresh peach, and from the very first bite I could taste the rich cheese flavor!

The cheesecake isn't greasy, it's moderately sweet, and the texture is dense and creamy, melting chewily in your mouth! With the fresh peach added, it finished light and refreshing rather than heavy.

There's peach compote inside, and the little bursts of juice here and there were so good ^^

Is the matcha cold brew worth ordering instead of an americano?
The matcha cold brew (₩7,500) at Something About Coffee was the most memorable item that day! The matcha cream is so airy and soft that you can almost eat it with a fork!

Behind the bittersweet matcha foam comes the deep flavor of the cold brew, a combination you keep sipping even without any sweetness.

The matcha foam melts like a cloud in your mouth, and the texture was so good it put me in a great mood! If you're torn between an americano and a matcha drink to go with dessert at this Gangnam Station-area café, go for the matcha cold brew haha

What's inside the choco pudding cookie?
The choco pudding cookie (₩6,200) at Something About Coffee was one I was dying to know the taste and texture of the moment I saw it! The outside is slightly crisp, a moist brownie-style cookie! When I cut it in half, oh my gosh...
It was filled with soft, moist chocolate pudding. The pudding texture isn't too light, it's dense, yet it just melts away in your mouth?? hahaha
Rich chocolate flavor from both the cookie and the pudding fills your whole mouth, so if you love chocolate, definitely try it once ^^ Pair it with an americano, a must!

How acidic is the americano?
The americano (₩6,500) at Something About Coffee isn't strongly acidic and has a clean style, so it's easy to drink alongside desserts.

It has just the right acidity and just the right body for pairing with dessert, a textbook americano! If you're having dessert, I recommend an americano ^^
Tips before visiting Something About Coffee
Something About Coffee was so crowded that most seats were taken even around 4:30 p.m. on a weekday, so if you want to stay somewhere quiet, go earlier. I'd recommend visiting a bit earlier rather than late in the afternoon. (Next time I'm going right at opening in the morning haha)
Also, there are power outlets along the wall, so you can charge your phone and use a laptop :)
