Julseoneun Banjeom Gangnae is a old-school Chinese restaurant in Gangnae-myeon, Heungdeok-gu, Cheongju, known as one of the best jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) spots near Osong. Two people ate deungsim ganjjajang (pork loin black bean noodles) for ₩9,000, daepa chadol jjamppong (green onion and beef brisket spicy noodle soup) for ₩12,000, and lemon tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) for ₩13,900, and the deep meaty broth in the jjamppong and old-style sauce-poured tangsuyuk stood out over anything overly spicy. Worth a repeat visit if you're after a rich, meat-based jjamppong and solid, no-frills Chinese cooking.
