I've been craving meat so much lately... that day too, I was deciding what to eat and ended up deciding on meat, haha. And not just any meat — I really wanted charcoal-grilled seasoned pork ribs.

So I went to Chamsutjip Naju Innovation City Branch! They happened to be running a 2+1 deal on handmade seasoned pork ribs. Couldn't pass that up.🤣 Order 2 servings and get 1 more free, they said, so I ordered without hesitation. Ordered 2 servings and got 3! A whopping 750g!!

And right in front of the restaurant there's an open area toward the lake park, so it felt less cramped than you'd expect. Coming to eat meat and having such an open view outside made me feel unexpectedly good.😊 Especially on a breezy evening, eating at the outdoor tables would probably make for a really, really nice atmosphere!

Inside Chamsutjip: roomier than it looks from the street

My first impression of the interior of Chamsutjip Naju Innovation City Branch, right after opening the door, was 'Oh? It's bigger than I thought!' haha. There's also a floor-seating area, so families with kids could eat comfortably too.

And there was something I personally really liked about the inside — the view of the lake park through the window.

Spacious dining hall with floor seating

While busy grilling and eating meat, glancing out the window and seeing that open view was nice. It's a BBQ restaurant, but since the surroundings weren't cramped, there was a bit of a relaxed feeling while eating.

The place is spacious, so it seemed good for family dinners, get-togethers with friends, or work dinners with several people. If you're looking for a Naju restaurant that's a hit and want a spacious spot for a family meal or group outing, it might be worth checking out the vibe here too.😉

What we ordered at Chamsutjip in Naju Innovation City

First I grabbed a seat and ordered the meat. I was really hungry that day.🤣

No need to think twice about the menu — 2 servings of handmade seasoned pork ribs! And I also ordered a water naengmyeon (cold noodles) and a nurungji (rice-crust soup). Eating meat without naengmyeon feels like something's missing... and at the end you need something warm too, haha. This is basically my meat-eating routine.😎

Two servings of handmade seasoned pork ribs became 750g across three

The meat finally arrived! Thanks to the 2+1 deal, it was 3 servings, 750g total. It looked so generous even before eating — such a good feeling, haha.

Seasoned pork ribs placed on the charcoal grill

Put the meat on the charcoal... sizzle sizzle... that hissing sound suddenly made me even hungrier.😂 Seasoned pork ribs really do taste best grilled over charcoal.

As the meat cooks and that sweet seasoning smell rises up... ah... at this point even taking photos starts to feel like a chore, haha. I just want to eat it already.🤣

I picked up a piece of nicely browned meat and tried it — the seasoning was sweet in a good way and paired well with the meat.

It wasn't aggressively sweet, more the kind of flavor that keeps you reaching for more 👍👍

The complimentary freshwater snail doenjang stew at Chamsutjip

While we were eating the meat, a miso soup showed up. Turns out it was a complimentary corn snail miso soup!

I took a spoonful of the broth first... and huh? I was surprised at how much better it was than expected, haha.

The broth was really refreshing and savory. And it had corn snails in it too, so it would've been great with rice.

Complimentary corn snail miso soup

It was a complimentary item, but it tasted better than expected, so I kept going back for more. How is it this refreshing?? Genuinely so good!! The meat was great that day, but this corn snail miso soup stuck with me quite a bit too.😊

Water naengmyeon: the chilled noodles to pair with Naju pork ribs

There's a menu item I pretty much always order when eating meat. That's right... water naengmyeon (cold noodles)!

Eating meat without naengmyeon feels a bit lacking somehow, haha. And when the noodles arrived, there were thin ice flakes floating on top~

It looked refreshing just from the sight of it. I loosened the noodles with my chopsticks and took a bite with the broth... ahh... this is the taste.🤣

Especially since the seasoned pork ribs are sweet, following it up with cold, refreshing naengmyeon cleanses your palate and makes you want more meat again. They really pair perfectly together.

Finishing the meal at Chamsutjip with nurungji

Honestly, by this point I was already pretty full. But then there was nurungji (rice-crust soup) sitting there...

'Should I eat it or not?' I thought about it for a moment and then ate it anyway.🤣 I guess being full and being unable to pass up something delicious are two entirely separate issues, haha.

Finishing with warm rice-crust soup left my stomach feeling comfortable and settled. Meat, then naengmyeon, then rice-crust soup to finish... I really ate well that day.😂
