Gangnam Station hair salon: ribbon dye fixes patchy hair, Park Jun
In short
Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch is a hair salon near Gangnam Station in Seoul, a 2-minute walk from Exit 2 of Sinnonhyeon Station. The writer came in for a perm, but because her hair was patchy and damaged, the designer recommended a ribbon (re-born) dye instead: a level 5 dark base mixed with blue-toned color, combined with a clinic treatment. She got the tone she wanted and her hair actually felt softer. For a tone-down color on hair damaged by frequent dyeing, the ribbon dye at Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch is a good fit.

I've been dyeing my hair for n years now, and this time I tried ribbon dye for the first time at Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch. Ribbon dye does the clinic treatment and the coloring at the same time, so it keeps damage to a minimum. If you dye your hair often, I recommend it! Okay, here's my honest review of ribbon dye at Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch.
Where is Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch, and what are the hours?
Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch is a 2-minute walk from Exit 2 of Sinnonhyeon Station (14 Gangnam-daero 110-gil, 2nd floor), and it's open every day from 10:00 to 20:00. It's close to the station, so it was easy to get to.

Where to park at a Gangnam Station hair salon
The salon lets you use Jeil Parking, a 2-minute walk away, for free during your treatment. I drove this time and was worried about parking since it's Gangnam. Luckily the salon covers it, so I saved some money haha

Inside Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch
The salon has the entire 2nd floor of the building to itself, so it was really spacious~

There's even a Life Four Cuts photo booth (a Korean four-frame photo booth)! Once your hair looks pretty you want to take photos, right? Being able to do it right in the salon, I personally thought, was a great idea.

Why I went in for a perm and got a tone-down dye instead
I booked through Naver and visited. They showed me to the waiting zone, brought me welcome tea, and while I waited I filled out a consultation sheet or something like that?

Honestly, I came for a perm, but my hair was badly damaged from frequent dyeing and the color had faded unevenly, so the designer who looked after me today recommended dyeing instead. I'd been thinking about a dye anyway, so off we went with dye haha
Before: patchy hair with a different color at the crown, middle and ends
My hair before dyeing = a total patchy mess. The designer took one look and said the crown, the middle and the lower part were all different colors lol

Level 5 base plus blue-toned dye to cancel out redness
I'd had a tone-down dye two months ago for my wedding photo shoot, and the color faded in under 2 weeks. When I told her this, she said she'd make the color last as long as possible this time while cutting the red tones, so I decided to trust her. She laid down a dark base of about level 5 and mixed in a blue-toned dye.

And since my hair is damaged, she recommended ribbon (re-born) dye, which includes a clinic treatment, instead of regular dye, so that's what I did. In the end my hair actually felt softer after dyeing and combed through easily, so I'm happy with it! Let me show you the ribbon dye process below.
How is ribbon dye different from regular hair dye?
Ribbon dye at Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch started with scalp protectant sprayed all over.

They also brought me a drink and snacks, and I was so touched by the note on the cup sleeve.

As for how it differs from regular dye, they said ribbon dye applies a hair protectant before coloring so the dye doesn't damage the hair any further, and adds a protein ampoule to the dye to fill the hair with enough protein.

Two people did my dye together, which saved time. They were fast but divided my hair into many sections and applied the dye carefully, so I wasn't worried at all. My heart was pounding with excitement!

I don't have a photo, but the scalp massage while they washed my hair at the shampoo station felt great too. I'm going on a date with my boyfriend afterward, so I asked the designer for waves, and she's curling it with an iron now haha
After: the tone-down ribbon dye result
Where did my chaotic hair from earlier go?! The tone-down ribbon dye from Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch came out exactly the color I wanted, and maybe because they used clinic products too, my hair feels better than before dyeing, haha. Ribbon dye gave me that pure, delicate look.

I only learned about ribbon dye this time at Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch, and I totally recommend it to people like me who dye often and have a lot of hair damage..!! Doing dye and clinic together reduces damage, and the hair looks much healthier. In my case, my hair actually combed through more easily after dyeing than before.

I love this tone-down dye~ When I went to work, my teammates all said it looked pretty, which made me happy haha. If you want ribbon dye, go to Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch and be sure to ask for the designer who did mine! Recommended Gangnam hair salon 👍
