Why did I choose a cleansing balm for summer pore care?

As the summer heat continued, my pores seemed to have widened, and breakouts were on my mind too. I usually washed lightly with a low-pH gel cleanser, and used a pore cleansing foam on days when I wanted to pay a little more attention, but I chose this cleansing balm because I wanted to add another step to my pore-care routine.

What are the texture and contents like?

It came with a spatula, so it was convenient to scoop out each time I used it. It is a black balm containing charcoal ingredients; it felt slightly oily, but seemed to melt smoothly as I rubbed it over my skin.

How did the black texture change cleansing?

With clear cleansers, there were times when it was hard to notice areas that had not been fully cleaned, but this product was black, so leftover areas stood out more. Because of that, I found myself checking a little more thoroughly while cleansing.

How did I use it, and what should I watch out for?

After applying it to my skin, I massaged it several times, focusing on areas where I was concerned about pores. Since it is a balm, it can fall downward before you start rubbing it in, so it is better to be careful. After melting it down sufficiently, I rinsed with lukewarm water, then finished with a second cleanse using pore cleansing foam.

How did it feel after use?

Even after using the cleansing balm alone, my skin felt as though it had been cleaned well. It may be worth considering if you are concerned about blackheads or pore care and want to visually check for missed areas while cleansing.
