Hi everyone! Today I visited Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon branch~ It's located near Daegu EXCO and has its own parking lot, so I didn't have to worry about parking at all!

And best of all, the meat is all-you-can-eat, there's a self-bar and dessert corner, and the place is huge so it felt really comfortable. I ate so well! Let me introduce it right away~

Inside Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon: the window table for four

The inside of Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon branch was spacious enough that you wouldn't worry about waiting even with a crowd. Since we'd reserved the day before, we were shown to a window-side table for four.

Once you step inside, you find a place this spacious! It's so big that even with lots of people, you probably won't have to wait to get seated. We'd reserved the day before, so we were shown to a window-side table for four~

Weekday lunch at 22,900 won: bonito and spicy broth, half and half

We visited Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon branch for a weekday lunch, priced at ₩22,900 per person. You can choose from 2 broths, and picking sukiyaki or hot pot broth adds ₩1,000.

We came for weekday lunch and paid ₩22,900 per person, with a choice of 2 broths — sukiyaki or hot pot adds ₩1,000! We chose bonito and spicy, then headed straight to the self-bar corner~

The vegetable corner and rice paper roll ingredients

We went to the vegetable corner first, which had everything from spring roll vegetables to shabu-shabu vegetables — wow, the vegetables were seriously fresh and piled up generously! There was a wide variety, including bok choy, mung bean sprouts, napa cabbage, enoki mushrooms, sweet pumpkin, green onion, onion, and wood ear mushrooms~ And for the raw spring roll wraps, there were sprouts, perilla leaves, carrots, red cabbage, onion, cucumber, and pineapple!

The meat station: three plates of beef per trip

The meat station had both pork and beef, and it kept coming out fresh and steady! You could take 3 plates at a time, so we grabbed beef first!

Next we headed straight to the self-bar, which had a variety of sauces — yuzu ponzu, peanut, chili, and soy sauce — and it was all kept so hygienically clean that it made eating even more pleasant! Staff were around constantly restocking and tidying up whatever ran low 🫢👍

What's on the self-bar at Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon?

The self-bar at Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon branch had a huge variety of food — fried rice, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), soy sauce chicken, seasoned chicken, takoyaki, cream pasta, rosé potatoes, yusanseul (stir-fried pork with vegetables), soup, and soybean broth — and there was even individually packaged porridge for making after finishing your shabu-shabu!

First, since we needed to fill up on shabu-shabu, we grabbed vegetables for the pot, wrap vegetables, meat, sauce, and rice paper and dug in properly.

First round of shabu-shabu vegetables and meat

Since the meat is all-you-can-eat, we put all 3 plates of the first batch into the pot right away and wrapped it up with fresh vegetables in rice paper — words fail me~ The meat was so tender and the vegetables so fresh, it was seriously delicious 😭👏

Shabu-shabu meat wrapped in rice paper

Then we brought over 3 more plates of meat for round two, and wrapped it up neatly in rice paper again~ There was even a separate spot to get warm water for soaking the rice paper, which made it so convenient. For our vegetable-loving family, shabu-shabu is pure heaven!

Second round of three plates of beef
Self-bar chicken served on a plate

Partway through, my partner said the chicken looked too good and brought some over — and wow, it really was delicious!! Honestly I thought it was even better than the dakgangjeong (soy-glazed fried chicken) sold in the Banwoldang underground mall!!! We were so focused on the shabu-shabu that we didn't get to try everything on the self-bar, which was a shame ㅠㅠ Everything on the self-bar is genuinely delicious, so make sure to save 50% of your appetite for shabu-shabu and 50% for the self-bar ㅠㅠ

Unlimited draft beer station

Unlimited draft beer and the drink zone

And the best part of all — unlimited draft beer!! No extra charge! Just drink up~ Besides that, there's also a 'spring water' station with a water dispenser, tangerine juice, plum juice, and a soda machine.

Dessert zone: three coffee machines and peanut soft-serve

The dessert zone had a whopping three coffee machines! And there was also a soft-serve ice cream machine — apparently it's great for making affogato too!

Soft-serve ice cream with toppings

There was a wide range of toppings, so you could pile on granola or brown rice crunch as much as you like, and my partner grabbed peanuts from the shabu-shabu sauce corner to top the ice cream with — truly someone who knows food... With peanuts added, it tasted just like a Waldkorn cone, so good!! And this ice cream wasn't cheap-tasting at all — the milk flavor was rich and luxurious, and apparently you can even take it out;;; I wonder if the owner has any profit left after giving away this much.

To finish, we had a warm café latte and left right at the 80-minute mark~ Honestly, out of all the shabu-shabu buffets I've been to lately, this was the best quality, freshest, and most filling meal!!

On the way out I noticed the coffee is available to take out too haha. And they're currently running a 'Shasha' event where scanning the QR code under your receipt and filling out a Google form enters you to win a Chanel bag as first prize~~ Honestly I want the iPad more than the Chanel bag haha. Definitely worth entering!!

Is Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon branch worth it?

Today I visited Shabu20, a well-known spot near Daegu EXCO! It's an all-you-can-eat beef shabu-shabu place, so the value was great, and not just the meat but the vegetables were super fresh too! The self-bar had over 10 items, all delicious, from fried rice to chicken, plus dessert items like rice cakes, oranges and tomatoes, and unlimited coffee, ice cream, drinks and beer made it even better! The interior is huge and there's dedicated parking front and back, so no worries there either. I'm definitely planning to come back for another family meal haha.
