On a weekday afternoon my wife and I wanted a slow walk and a deep, rich cup of coffee to unwind, so we revisited Central Site Hapjeong, one of the best-known cafés in Hapjeong.

How do you get to Central Site Hapjeong from Hapjeong Station?
Leave Hapjeong Station (Lines 2 and 6) by Exit 2 and turn into the alley you see right away on your right. Central Site Hapjeong is just 30 seconds and about 100 m away. A fragrant cup of coffee on a weekday afternoon is always a little comma in a busy life, and specialty coffee tastes great any time, so we headed over without hesitation. The location is excellent to begin with.

It's right next to the Mecenatpolis and Prugio buildings, so even first-timers can find it easily without getting lost. A perfect spot.

Turning into the alley, the modern, stylish black awning with the CENTRAL SITE COFFEE ROASTERS logo stood out clearly.

The soft, stylish curved lighting glowing warmly through the large window felt cozy even before we stepped inside.

Central Site Hapjeong atmosphere and the roasting room
Step inside and the first thing that grabs your eye is the grand glass-walled showroom-style roasting room taking up one side of the space.

Seeing the large high-end roaster and the neatly stacked sacks of green beans, we felt all over again how seriously this roastery takes coffee, from selecting green beans to roasting.

The fragrant, nutty aroma of beans drifting through the shop and the calm music playing softly made the whole place feel refined yet comfortable.
My wife and I sat side by side at the bar table by the window, watching the quiet alley outside, and the tangle of daily thoughts settled down. We soaked up a truly relaxed afternoon. The tables are comfortably spaced, so it's a great atmosphere for a cozy date or for sipping coffee quietly alone.

Central Site Hapjeong menu and the filter coffees we ordered
The menu board at the counter had a dazzling lineup to excite any coffee lover, from world-class Panama Gesha to Ethiopian C.O.E. award lots and Colombian special editions. In the showcase, brownie tiramisu, Mont Blanc tiramisu and classic tiramisu looked so tempting that we couldn't resist dessert.
After careful deliberation we chose the Ethiopia Tamiru 74158 Natural (5th place, 2021 C.O.E) and the Colombia La Betania Gesha Washed X1 as filter coffees, and for dessert the classic tiramisu with its rich mascarpone flavor.

After ordering, a neatly set tray arrived with the coffees in big, hefty rocks glasses, the tiramisu, and tasting note cards telling the story of each bean. The cards detail the history of the farm where the beans grew, the processing method and the cup notes, and reading them before drinking was a real pleasure.

What does Colombia La Betania Gesha Washed taste like?
The first one we tried, the Colombia La Betania Gesha Washed, wowed us already with its clear, translucent ruby color. The moment I took a sip, bright floral notes of passion fruit and jasmine brushed past my nose, and a refreshing, refined acidity like lemon and lime spread cleanly. Then a gentle orange sweetness and a clean peppermint finish lingered long, and I couldn't help exclaiming in delight.

What does Ethiopia Tamiru Natural taste like?
The Ethiopia Tamiru Natural my wife chose had the dense fruit aroma of ripe strawberry and apricot, together with a honey-like sweetness and silky texture, giving a heavier, deeper balance.

Both cups had the beans' own distinctive character coming through vividly, and I felt happy and moved the whole time I was drinking.

Central Site classic tiramisu and coffee pairing
The classic tiramisu at Central Site Hapjeong was also perfect, beyond what I'd expected. Thick mascarpone cheese cream, rich Valrhona cocoa powder and dark chocolate chips were layered over sponge generously soaked in espresso syrup.
I scooped it up with the dessert fork and it melted smoothly in my mouth, bursting with bittersweet flavor. It isn't overly sweet, just a clean sweetness, so it paired beautifully with the delicate, fragrant specialty filter coffee.
Central Site Hapjeong opening hours
Central Site Hapjeong opens at 8:00 a.m. on weekdays and from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekends, with generous hours that make it easy to drop in any time.

The extra care in each cup of coffee, the deep expertise, the stylish interior and the peaceful calm of watching the view outside the window all made this time better than I'd hoped.

If you want to rest with proper specialty coffee and high-quality handmade desserts around Hapjeong Station or Seogyo-dong, I strongly recommend visiting Central Site Hapjeong, a standout café near Hapjeong Station.
