Giheung burger shop: avocado truffle & classic split at WeWe Burger

We decided to have dinner near Giheung Station, and ended up at WeWe Burger. I'm not a big handmade-burger person, but once in a while they really hit the spot.

Where is WeWe Burger near Giheung Station, and is there parking?

WeWe Burger (위위버거) is in the Hillstate Giheung shops, about 300 m from Giheung Station Exit 4, a 2–3 minute walk. The orange exterior stands out even from a distance.

What is WeWe Burger like for a late dinner?

The shop has a casual, clean feel. It's mostly tables for 2 to 4 people, so it's easy to come for burgers as a pair. We went late in the evening, and it was fairly relaxed inside.

Burger photos are stuck up on the wall. Apparently the double burgers come with 2 patties.

You order at a kiosk and grab things like wet wipes and straws yourself at the self-service bar. There are also baby chairs, so just ask if you need one.

There's a good range of drinks too. Looks like they even serve Stella draft beer!

One of WeWe Burger's selling points is that even the buns are made in-store. It's on another level from cheap fast-food burgers. Our burgers came out not long after we ordered.

Is the WeWe Burger classic burger worth ordering on a first visit?

This is the classic burger I ordered. You can choose between a sesame bun and a brioche bun depending on your taste, and I went with sesame.

If it's your first time at WeWe Burger, I'd recommend the basic classic burger. It's packed with vegetables. The patty is said to be handmade from 100% beef, and it really is tender and you can taste the quality. It's thick too, so it definitely feels like you're eating meat.

I think this is the longest french fry I've seen in my life. They were freshly fried and piping hot. Fries with a burger is simply the best combo.

Is the WeWe Burger truffle burger better with avocado?

This is the truffle burger my companion ordered. The truffle aroma comes through gently and goes well with the meaty flavor of the patty. Since it's a signature menu item, I had high expectations. Cutting it in half to share between two is just right. If you visit with a friend, order different burgers and share.

The color is a bit different from regular fries, right? We switched the truffle burger set to sweet potato fries, and added avocado to the burger. Regular fries are for when you want something salty, while the sweet potato fries are crispy outside, moist inside and sweet. They're delicious, so do try them.

With avocado added, the truffle burger has a definite green presence. The soft avocado makes the texture of the burger even softer.

Ordering a different burger each and splitting them made the difference between truffle and classic really clear. One is fragrant, the other is the plain, classic style.

Verdict: WeWe Burger for a meal near Giheung Station and AK Plaza

If you're looking for a place to eat around Giheung in Yongin or near AK Plaza, give WeWe Burger a try. I'm not usually a burger person, but a handmade burger seems like a good choice when you want something a little different. If you're coming by car, keep in mind the 1 hour of support at the Giheung Station transfer parking lot.
