Pocheon pasta restaurant on the way home: abalone pasta at Eoneu Dal

In short

Eoneu Dal (어느달) is a Western restaurant on Jeongmundong-gil in Pocheon, Gyeonggi, known as one of Pocheon's best pasta spots. On the way home from a Pocheon trip with a baby, the writer walked into Eoneu Dal around 5:30 pm and ordered salmon salad (₩18,000), beef tomato pasta (₩19,000), mushroom pilaf (₩17,000) and abalone pasta (₩19,000); by around 6 pm there was a wait. Chosen instead of Pocheon's famous Idong galbi (이동갈비, marinated short ribs), Eoneu Dal made for a very satisfying Western dinner.

We were heading home after a trip to Pocheon and stopped at Eoneu Dal (어느달) for dinner. It's such a famous Western restaurant in Pocheon that I'd saved it ahead of time, and once I got there I immediately understood why it has so many reviews haha

When does the dinner wait start at Eoneu Dal?

Visit to Eoneu Dal, a Western restaurant in Jeongmun-dong, Pocheon

We arrived at Eoneu Dal around 5:30 pm and were lucky enough to get in right away. But while we were eating, guests kept coming in from around 6 pm and a wait started to build. It really does seem to be a pretty famous restaurant in Pocheon.

The parking lot is large and right in front of the restaurant, so parking was easy, and even if there's a wait, it's no hassle to sit in the car.

Inside Eoneu Dal: a white-toned space for dates and family meals

A place with a great atmosphere, good for a date or a family meal

The restaurant is neatly decorated in white tones.

Bright, relaxed interior of Eoneu Dal

The tables are spaced comfortably, so it didn't feel crowded, and the whole place is bright and relaxed, so it looked fine for a date or a family dinner. We also saw other families who'd come with babies like us.

Before the food comes, Eoneu Dal brings out salt bread. Even the bread was thoughtful 💟 Most places serve baguette or sliced bread, so getting warm salt bread just felt classy haha

It was slightly crisp outside and moist inside, and I finished one before the food even arrived 😂

The four dishes we ordered at Eoneu Dal

  • Salmon salad ₩18,000
  • Beef tomato pasta ₩19,000
  • Mushroom pilaf ₩17,000
  • Abalone pasta ₩19,000

So we ordered four dishes in total~!

Salmon salad: generous portion and fresh vegetables

The salmon salad was more generous than I expected, and above all the vegetables were really fresh.

The dressing wasn't too strong and had a tang, so it wasn't heavy, and eating it with the salmon really woke up my appetite! A nice light start before the mains.

Beef tomato pasta: the dish I liked best that day

The beef tomato pasta was personally one of the dishes I was happiest with that day.

The beef on top was really tender, not tough at all, and it practically melted in my mouth.

The tomato sauce was rich and delicious too, so by the end I was scooping up the sauce with a spoon lol If you like classic tomato pasta, I think you'll be happy with this.

Mushroom pilaf: rice with the aroma of well-roasted mushrooms

The mushroom pilaf had a really lovely mushroom aroma. The mushrooms didn't feel haphazardly tossed on top; they were nicely roasted and the flavor really came through.

The mushroom pilaf was tastier than I expected. The mushrooms were really well roasted, so the aroma was great, and eaten with the rice it had a nutty richness. It didn't feel like ordinary fried rice; you can properly taste the mushrooms, which I loved. It was also easier on the baby than pasta, so that worked out well. 💛

Abalone pasta: a surprisingly upscale dish in Pocheon

The abalone pasta felt more upscale than I expected.

With abalone in it, the flavor was definitely deeper than an ordinary seafood pasta, and I liked the subtle scent of the sea that rose from it.

The sauce wasn't overly heavy, so it was easy to eat, and I was a little surprised you could get a dish like this in Pocheon! I think seafood lovers will be happy with it.

Is Eoneu Dal a good restaurant to go to with a baby?

Eoneu Dal has baby chairs and also provides children's tableware, so we could eat comfortably with our baby. Even though it's a restaurant with a nice atmosphere, it didn't feel daunting to bring a child, which I appreciated. 💛🎈

The verdict on choosing Eoneu Dal for dinner on the way home from Pocheon

Closing photo at Eoneu Dal on the way home from a Pocheon trip

Eoneu Dal, where we stopped on the way back from our Pocheon trip, was far more satisfying than I expected. There's a reason it's famous in Pocheon as a Western restaurant with a good atmosphere. Honestly, Pocheon makes me think of Idong galbi (marinated short ribs) first, but trying Western food for a change felt like a really good choice haha

I liked it enough that I want to try other dishes next time I'm in Pocheon. I recommend it to anyone looking for a pasta place or a restaurant with a nice atmosphere in Pocheon! 😊
