Incheon Nonhyeon ramen: Kumamoto set with a kid, Hongdae Gureume
In short
Hongdae Gureume Incheon Nonhyeon Branch is a Japanese restaurant on the 2nd floor of the iFlex Building near Nonhyeon Station Exit 3 in Namdong, Incheon. The writer and their child shared the Gureume Ramen Set (Kumamoto) with an added flavored egg and the Snow Double Cheese Katsu, and the portions were big enough to leave them full. The rich soy-based ramen tasted better than the ramen the writer had in Fukuoka, so order at least one ramen at Hongdae Gureume Incheon Nonhyeon Branch.

There's a Japanese restaurant near Nonhyeon Station in Incheon with great prices and great food, so let me introduce it. It tastes even better than what I ate in Fukuoka! It's Hongdae Gureume (홍대구루메), my pick for Nonhyeon in Incheon~

Where is Hongdae Gureume Incheon Nonhyeon Branch, and what are its hours?
Hongdae Gureume Incheon Nonhyeon Branch is on the 2nd floor of the iFlex Building, less than a 5-minute walk from Nonhyeon Station Exit 3. It's open daily 11:30–21:30 with no break time, and last order is at 21:00.

There were waiting chairs too, probably because it's such a popular spot.

Seating and atmosphere at Hongdae Gureume Incheon Nonhyeon Branch
Inside, the seats are spaced widely and there are lots of them. There are single seats for solo diners, plus 2-person and 4-person seats.

They also run a lucky box draw event for orders of ₩30,000 or more! Seeing all the coupons hanging in bunches out front, you can tell it has plenty of regulars, a real hit of a restaurant.

They were so thoughtful, too: hair ties, aprons and even phone stands were set out on the table so you can eat comfortably, aww. Spoons, chopsticks and tissues are right next to the table!

Prepaid card top-up, review event and the handwritten fortune notes
Hongdae Gureume Incheon Nonhyeon Branch also had a prepaid card top-up event. Having actually visited, I thought the food was so good that if I lived nearby I'd top up a card and come every day. Anyone who lives close, take note!

And there was this little fortune note at every seat! Each one is handwritten, and every message was so touching.. My kid and I had fun with it until the food arrived.
If you join the Naver photo review event, you get one item of salmon sushi, takoyaki or a drink! If you're visiting, definitely join the review event too~

The menu and how to order at the kiosk
The menu runs from set meals for two to hearty single-person sets, and I liked that you can see real photos and what's included at a glance!

When the food actually arrived, it matched the photos 200%. You could feel that this restaurant prepares every dish with real care.

You order on the kiosk at your seat and pay at the counter before you leave! There are so many set meals that ordering a combination to share with everyone would be great too~
What we ordered for two (me and my kid) and the prices
- Snow Double Cheese Katsu ₩13,900
- Gureume Ramen Set (Kumamoto) ₩14,900
- Extra flavored egg ₩2,500
It was just me and my kid, and we really, truly ate until we were stuffed~ Portions at Hongdae Gureume Incheon Nonhyeon Branch are generous! You can also order extra ramen noodles and extra eggs, FYI~

What comes in the Snow Double Cheese Katsu set and the Gureume Ramen Set
I liked that each table gets all its food at once. My kid's Snow Double Cheese Katsu set came with cheese-filled pork cutlet (tonkatsu), fluffy white rice, salad, several sauces and a soup.
My Gureume Ramen Set came with ramen, 2 pieces of inari sushi (fried tofu pouch rice), plus shrimp tempura and karaage (Japanese fried chicken), vegetable salad, pumpkin salad and candied sweet potato! It was a really full spread.

How the Kumamoto-style ramen and flavored egg taste
In the Gureume Ramen Set I chose the Kumamoto-type ramen! The soy-based broth was rich and really good. It tasted like it had been simmered for a long time, and it warmed me all the way through. I added the flavored egg too, and the soft-boiled egg was just amazing, aww. Highly recommend, highly recommend.

Shrimp tempura and karaage
The shrimp tempura and karaage in the ramen set had a thin batter with thick shrimp and meat inside, so they were so satisfying to bite into. I also liked that they gave a variety of sauces.

Snow Double Cheese Katsu and its 4 sauces
If you love tonkatsu, you have to try the Snow Double Cheese Katsu at Hongdae Gureume. Eat it while it's hot and the cheese stretches and stretches. The katsu comes with 4 sauces: salt, wasabi, tonkatsu sauce and a spicy sauce, and it was fun mixing and matching them.

The spicy sauce had great savory depth too!

Eating it with the salad and side dishes meant I never got tired of it, and I could keep going with different flavor combinations, haha.

Generously stuffed inari sushi
The inari sushi in the ramen set was packed too, filled to the brim with flying fish roe and tuna! You could really feel their generosity, with no skimping on ingredients.

Why you should order the ramen at Hongdae Gureume
When you come to Hongdae Gureume, definitely order at least 1 ramen. Honestly, it's better here than what I ate in Fukuoka.. It's just right for Korean tastes.

The chashu (braised pork slices) was tender too, and it melted in my mouth together with the noodles, aww.

Looking at the photos makes me want to eat it again. Have the flavored egg together with the broth. Such a delicious combo..

That was Hongdae Gureume in Nonhyeon, Incheon, and I was so satisfied eating there. If you're heading nearby, I hope you stop by! I highly recommend it as a date spot in Incheon~
