La Cuesta's 1st-floor bakery and facilities
The 1st floor of La Cuesta Gwangju has a wide range of baked goods, and you can order there too. The variety of bread is really something🥐🥖 On one side there are tables where you can sit and eat🪑

Baby chairs are provided too, and there were families with little kids.

There's a self-packing corner for bread and an oven too! You can easily reheat leftover bread or pack it to go, which I liked🥨

The self bar has ice water and syrup, and there were blankets and cushions as well.
La Cuesta's 2nd-floor seating and outdoor tables
The 2nd floor of La Cuesta Gwangju has 4-person seats as well as group seats, so it looks good for coming with friends or family in a group. There's a self bar with ice water on the 2nd floor too🧊
The 2nd floor has separate men's and women's restrooms, and they were kept clean.

There are outdoor tables too, which looked great for a coffee when the weather is nice☕️ It was raining when I visited, so sadly I couldn't use them🌧️

La Cuesta Gwangju menu, discounts and events
La Cuesta Gwangju, the Hwadam Forest bakery café, was also featured on the TV show Live Today (Saengbangsong Today), where meju bread (soybean-block-shaped loaf) was introduced🍞 So I decided I had to try the meju bread.
Besides coffee, La Cuesta Gwangju has lattes, teas, smoothies, ades and more☕️🍹 There's slice cake too, and even Pororo drinks for kids🍰🧃

I heard soldiers, police officers and firefighters get 10% off drinks when they show their public official ID👮♂️👨🚒

They sell brunch too, and there's a brunch set discount going on🍽️ There are also an Instagram follow and hashtag event and a receipt review event. Joining gets you one free bread, so be sure to take part when you visit🥐

La Cuesta Gwangju, the Hwadam Forest bakery café, has such a variety of bread🥐🥖 I'm a total bread lover, so I spent ages happily agonizing over which to pick😋

These are the breads my friend and I picked. Don't they all look delicious?😋
How are the decaf La Cuesta Latte and peppermint tea?
The decaf La Cuesta Latte is ₩9,000: a sweet latte with a house-made milk base topped with cream foam. The cream on top isn't too sweet and is so smooth, it was really good😋
I stirred it well before drinking, and even my friend, who normally doesn't like lattes, said it was really good.
The iced peppermint tea (₩6,800) is what my friend ordered! It went really well with the bread we ordered🥐

Bread we tried at La Cuesta: apple cinnamon stick, meju bread, custard cream bun
Apple cinnamon stick ₩5,500
The La Cuesta apple cinnamon stick is ₩5,500🍎 I liked that it's long and fairly big, and it was sweet and so good😋

Meju bread ₩6,400
The La Cuesta meju bread is ₩6,400, with kidney beans and green peas inside🍞 It really looks like a meju block, which is fun, and since it was on TV I ordered it with high expectations! It's nutty and plain, so it looks good as a breakfast substitute, and it paired well with the sweet, smooth La Cuesta Latte☕️

Custard cream bun ₩4,800
The La Cuesta custard cream bun is ₩4,800. La Cuesta Gwangju is clearly a place for cream! The cream inside the custard cream bun isn't very sweet, and it's so smooth and delicious😋 If you like cream buns, you have to try it!
Verdict: La Cuesta is a great stop after Hwadam Forest
