Euljiro 1-ga jokbal: order stuck 30 min, so takeout: Miss Jokbal

In short

Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch is a jokbal (braised pig's trotters) restaurant with a wait, located on Myeongdong 3-gil near Euljiro 1-ga Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. The 1st floor is the jokbal restaurant and the 2nd floor is a gamjatang (pork bone stew) restaurant. On a weekday evening with a friend, a tablet order on the 2nd floor still hadn't produced any jokbal after 30 minutes, so they switched to takeout, though the complimentary stew with kalguksu noodles and the salad were good value. To eat jokbal at Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch, ordering in person on the 1st floor is the safer bet.

How long is the weekday evening wait at Miss Jokbal near Euljiro-ipgu Station?

Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch (미쓰족발 서울명동점) has a wait even on weekday evenings. My friend Bang-gu and I were looking for somewhere easy for a quick first-round drink, so we headed to Miss Jokbal near Euljiro-ipgu Station for dinner!

How were the free stew and salad at Miss Jokbal?

The first thing I want to praise at Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch is the stew and salad that come as standard! I figured they'd be the usual jokbal-restaurant freebies, but the stew comes with kalguksu (knife-cut noodles), which felt like great value haha. It was a perfectly good drinking snack too~

Complimentary salad with zesty dressing

The salad had fresh vegetables too, and the zesty dressing did a solid job of cutting the greasiness^^

Why the jokbal took more than 30 minutes

The jokbal we ordered by tablet on the 2nd floor of Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch didn't come after 30 minutes. No matter how long we waited, no jokbal!! After 30 minutes I asked, and it seemed that because it's such a busy restaurant with a wait, the order hadn't been passed along properly~

Jinro and Terra to go with the jokbal while waiting

We planned to go with Jinro and Terra (soju and beer)~

Radish salad to eat with jokbal

Radish salad, sauces and steamed egg

A jokbal place has to have great radish salad (musaengchae), right? Of course it was tasty, but...

The sauces came in a nice variety too^^

How was the takeout jokbal from Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch?

Since the order was so late, we switched the jokbal to takeout. Yes, it looks good, right?^^ Glossy and glistening... It was dinnertime and we were starving. The original plan was to eat here and then head to our next appointment, but it got so late that we switched straight to takeout lol

What to know before visiting Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch

  • The 1st floor is a jokbal restaurant and the 2nd floor a gamjatang restaurant, so first-timers might get a little confused.
  • The interior is clean and the tables are spaced generously, so it looked suitable for company dinners and group gatherings.
  • But orders can get mixed up in the relay, so if you want jokbal, ordering in person on the 1st floor seems safer^^
