Sejong pho restaurant: free cilantro & broth refills at Mekong Thai
In short
Mekong Thai Sejong Naseong Branch is a pho and Southeast Asian restaurant on the 2nd floor of the NS Building on Naseong-ro in Naseong-dong, Sejong. On a weekend visit at 1:30 PM, the blogger ordered a large beef pho and nasi goreng, added cilantro, lemon, bean sprouts and chili for free, and finished the beef pho down to the last drop after a broth refill. For two adults, a large beef pho plus one more main at Mekong Thai makes a filling lunch.

I was trying to decide on lunch in Naseong-dong, Sejong, and ended up at Mekong Thai! This time I ordered beef pho and nasi goreng (Indonesian-style fried rice). Here's my honest review, from parking to the atmosphere to the food.

Which building is Mekong Thai Sejong Naseong Branch in?
Mekong Thai Sejong Naseong Branch is on the 2nd floor of the NS Building at 133-9 Naseong-ro, Sejong. Take the elevator up. The buildings in the Naseong-dong restaurant strip all look the same, so it's really easy to get confused, but just think "the Nogun Kkochi (skewer place) building!" Or the Gunsan Jogae Cheonguk (clam restaurant) building~~

The exterior already gave off a clean pho-specialty-shop feel, and I liked the inside too, simple and pleasant.

Is Mekong Thai busy at 1:30 PM on a weekend?
I went at 1:30 PM on a weekend, a slightly awkward time, and I was surprised to see customers keep coming in while I ate..! Pho has truly become a national food.

QR code ordering and group seating at Mekong Thai
Every table has a QR code you can use to order. It was convenient to order from your seat without waiting to call a staff member. There are also separate seats for 6 and group seating for 8 or more, so it looked fine for visiting with a bigger party.

Is extra cilantro free at Mekong Thai?
At Mekong Thai Sejong Naseong Branch, extra cilantro, lemon, bean sprouts and chili are free. Personally my favorite part! Another good thing is that there's a guide on how to eat pho the tasty way. I followed it exactly, and I thought, yes, glad I ate it as instructed!
At another pho place once, I paid extra for cilantro and was disappointed by how little I got, so here I was really happy to add things to my own taste. A welcome service especially for cilantro lovers! Cilantro addicts, assemble~~~~

Is a large beef pho and nasi goreng enough for two?
We ordered beef pho and nasi goreng. Soon the pho, the nasi goreng, bean sprouts, cilantro and chili all arrived, a full table. My mouth was watering just looking at it.
I did order the beef pho in the large size, but the bowl... is overwhelming. If two adults go, order a large pho and one more main dish, and you can stuff yourselves together at a great value. So proud of myself, food genius.
Ordering nasi goreng less salty
The nasi goreng here could be ordered less salty! I thought, original is the best~~ and went with original, and it was nicely seasoned and tasty! Next time I might try it a little less salty~

I liked that you can add bean sprouts, cilantro and chili to the beef pho to your taste. Dividing food onto small plates to share was easy too, so it was perfect for enjoying the two dishes together.
What's charming about pho is that the taste and texture change depending on what you add. If you like cilantro, put in plenty, and if you prefer spicy, add chili and eat it your way.

Broth refill: finishing every drop of the beef pho
Ordering nasi goreng too made it a hearty meal! When pho alone feels like not enough, adding a fried rice dish lets you try more variety. How seriously did I eat the pho? I even got a broth refill and drank it all (?) Honestly a total health-boosting meal.

Is there parking at Mekong Thai Sejong Naseong Branch?
After finishing the meal, I completed parking registration and drove out. There's plenty of parking and support for it, so it seems especially convenient for people coming by car.

- Beef pho and nasi goreng is a combo I recommend
- Cilantro, lemon, bean sprouts and chili are free to add
