Jeju noodle restaurant with 50-year Donam Jemyeon noodles: Myeonjumak

In short

Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch is a Jeju pork noodle restaurant on Beonyeong-ro in Jocheon-eup, about 9 minutes by car from Eco Land and 14 minutes from Saryeoni Forest Path. Two diners sat down at 9am for gogi-guksu (pork noodle soup) and bibim gogi-guksu made with noodles from Donam Jemyeon, a 50-year-old noodle maker, plus a half order of Jeju black pork dombegogi (sliced boiled pork). The dombegogi had no gamey smell and was tender, and with parking for over 100 cars and free baby noodles, Myeonjumak makes a solid first meal on a Jeju trip.

When you think of what to eat on a Jeju trip, most people think black pork, braised hairtail, grilled hairtail, or sweet shrimp! But there's one Jeju local dish you can't skip ~~ dombegogi (boiled pork sliced on a cutting board) and the gogi-guksu (pork noodle soup) topped with it ❤️ So I went to Myeonjumak, known as a gogi-guksu spot near Eco Land and Saryeoni Forest Path.

How far is Myeonjumak from Eco Land and Saryeoni Forest Path?

Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch

Myeonjumak is a Jeju gogi-guksu spot about 9 minutes by car from Eco Land and 14 minutes by car from Saryeoni Forest Path. At the entrance, a painting of a dol hareubang (stone grandfather statue) pulling noodles, and another of a horse grazing in a garden while enjoying gogi-guksu, caught my eye right away!!

Myeonjumak, a Jeju gogi-guksu favorite, is open from 9am to 3pm, so I went for breakfast ^^ Even right at opening time, a lot of people were already there ~~

Parking for over 100 cars at Myeonjumak, easy even for new drivers

What impressed me was how huge the parking lot is ~~ it fits over 100 cars, so parking is a breeze ~~ The owner even joked that new drivers could practice parking and driving there haha

Myeonjumak's menu: 8 noodle dishes and dombe samhap, 10 servings a day

There's a really wide variety of noodles — gogi-guksu, bibim guksu, myeolchi guksu, gogi bibim guksu, cold myeolchi guksu, sora bibim guksu, myeolchi gogi guksu, jeonbok gogi guksu ~~ And if you're not in the mood for noodles, there's also gogi gukbap, kongnamul gukbap, and jeonbok juk (abalone porridge) for a hearty hangover cure! As a side, there's dombegogi, and I loved that you can order a half portion — plus dombe sora, dombe jeonbok, and dombe samhap are sold in a strictly limited run of just 10 servings a day ~~

The dombegogi is made from freshly slaughtered 100% Jeju black pork, boiled twice a day, at 9am and noon!! That's probably why it was so crowded at 9am haha — truly a Jeju gogi-guksu favorite ~~

Free baby noodles and a self-serve bar at Myeonjumak

Radish tea, hair ties, disposable aprons, baby noodles, kids' spoons, a microwave for baby food, a phone charging corner, stain remover, even disposable mouthwash — the owner's service mindset is top notch 👍🏻

You order via tablet!! And for babies under 36 months, the baby noodles are free ~~

Basic side dishes at Myeonjumak, including diced radish kimchi and cabbage kimchi

Diced radish kimchi and cabbage kimchi came out, both great with noodles ~~ There's also savory anchovy broth at the self-serve bar, so you can help yourself haha

Every table is set with pepper, chili powder, salt, and seaweed flakes, so it's easy to season your gogi-guksu to taste ~

Donam Jemyeon noodles, 50 years on, and a 2026 top restaurant plaque

Myeonjumak uses Donam Jemyeon noodles with 50 years of tradition, so they're much chewier and tastier than the noodles at other gogi-guksu spots ~~ And the Donam Jemyeon noodles are sold here more affordably than in stores haha

On the way in, I noticed Myeonjumak's national top restaurant plaque — apparently it was selected as a 2026 top restaurant, the highest tier with 3 stars!!

Gogi-guksu and bibim gogi-guksu for two, with a half order of dombegogi

Since there were two of us at Lucky Sunny, we ordered gogi-guksu, gogi bibim guksu, and a half order of dombegogi ~~ The half order of dombegogi came out first!!

Half order of dombegogi served on a wooden cutting board
Dombegogi with a flag marked 100% Jeju black pork

Dombegogi with a flag marked '100% Jeju black pork' haha. Dombegogi comes from dombe, meaning cutting board — it refers to boiled pork sliced and served on one!

At Myeonjumak, a Jeju gogi-guksu favorite, the black pork dombegogi had no gamey smell and was even more tender and delicious ~~ I dipped it in ssamjang and topped it with fermented seafood too!!

Gogi-guksu and bibim gogi-guksu table setting

While I was still enjoying the dombegogi, the gogi-guksu and bibim guksu arrived haha. Eating a hearty breakfast at Myeonjumak before a full day of Jeju sightseeing is just the way to go ~~

Myeonjumak's gogi-guksu with milky broth

Gogi-guksu has a warm, milky broth, so it's great for breakfast and a noodle style even kids can enjoy. Slurping the noodles with the pork on top is a must!!

Bibim gogi-guksu with tangy, spicy seasoning

The bibim gogi-guksu had a jjolmyeon-like texture with a tangy, slightly spicy sauce, and the crunch of the vegetables was great too — really delicious. There was plenty of dombegogi left over, so I piled it all onto the bibim guksu haha

Who should eat at Myeonjumak on a Jeju trip?

If you're planning a Jeju trip that includes Eco Land or Saryeoni Forest Path, I'd definitely recommend having a meal of dombegogi and gogi-guksu at Myeonjumak ^^ It was also nice that Naver reservations were easy to make.
