Salted coffee vs salted latte at Hoot, a Chuncheon dessert café
In short
Hoot is a dessert café hidden in an alley across the street from Jungang Market in Myeongdong, Chuncheon. On a weekend afternoon we shared a salted coffee and a salted latte with pecan pie and chocolate fudge, and at Hoot the savory salt edge tamed the sweetness in both drinks, so either one works. Hoot also has its own parking lot right in front, making it an easy rest stop during a day out in Myeongdong.

After a hearty weekend lunch, I went out for a stroll around Myeongdong in Chuncheon! The weather was clear and lovely, and after wandering around I started craving a cold coffee~

Looking for good coffee, I discovered a café called Hoot near Jungang Market in Chuncheon.

The coffee menu looked varied and the desserts looked delicious, so craving something sweet, I visited this Chuncheon Myeongdong café. Let me introduce this Jungang Market café with great vibes and great coffee.

Where is Hoot, and is there parking? An alley across from Jungang Market

This dessert café, Hoot, in Chuncheon Myeongdong is set slightly hidden away in an alley across from Jungang Market. I always used to walk along the main road so I never noticed it, but there's a café tucked in here. The exterior was stylish too! Hoot also has its own parking lot right in front, which made things even better.

What is Hoot like on a weekend afternoon? Every seat taken
When I stepped inside Hoot, it was packed enough that every seat was taken. The atmosphere was clean yet cozy, with stylish interior that made it feel comfortable to relax in, so it's no wonder there were so many customers, and more kept coming in~ I felt like I was the last one to find out about this hidden dessert spot with such a great vibe, haha.

Hoot's menu: a cinnamon latte only on rainy or snowy days
I ordered at the counter! There was a wide variety of coffee and drinks. I always want to try a place's signature or special menu when I find one, and Hoot has a cinnamon latte that's only available on rainy or snowy days — that made me even more curious, haha.

There were desserts in the showcase too, so we ordered one of each, and the prices were reasonable, which made it even better.

Salted coffee, salted latte, pecan pie and chocolate fudge on one table

Our order was ready and brought out! It was hot and we'd just eaten something spicy, so I was craving something sweet — and once the coffee and desserts were all laid out together, it looked so pretty just to look at, haha.

We each ordered what we wanted, and it turned out our orders were nearly the same, haha. Myun had the salted coffee, and I had the salted latte.

Since we visited on a weekend afternoon, the desserts available that day were pecan pie and chocolate fudge, so we ordered one of each.

How does Hoot's salted coffee taste?
I tried Myun's salted coffee! The coffee had a hint of saltiness added, which kept the sweetness from being too heavy — it was delicious.

How does Hoot's salted latte taste?
I like coffee with milk in it, so I ordered the salted latte and tried it~ The smooth latte had a subtle salty note added to it, giving it a different charm from the lattes I usually drink — it was delicious. The coffee here was so good it made me curious about the other menu items too~

Pecan pie and chocolate fudge at Hoot
After enjoying the coffee, we tried the desserts too! The pecan pie had a nice nutty flavor, and the chocolate fudge had such a rich, sweet chocolate taste that any chocolate lover would fall for it — perfect for a sugar recharge.

Why Hoot is a good rest stop in Chuncheon's Myeongdong
Both the desserts and the coffee menu at Hoot were exactly my taste, and they were delicious. It's a great place to sightsee around Chuncheon Myeongdong on the weekend and take a break with a cup of coffee.

Chuncheon Jungang Market is close to my home, so I visit often for a walk~ but I only just found out there was such a nice-vibe café here! It felt like I'd found a quietly hidden café, and I loved that.

With its great atmosphere and delicious coffee and desserts, I'd recommend Hoot as a dessert café worth visiting when you come to Chuncheon Myeongdong. Since it's close to home, I think I'll be visiting often too~
