Guys, changing just one thing about your hairstyle can totally change your whole vibe, right? Women might change their look with makeup or clothes, but for men, it's no exaggeration to say the hairstyle pretty much decides the first impression.

Why switch a grown-out long leaf cut to a semi leaf cut?

I'd grown my hair out quite long and kept a leaf cut (a layered style with softly flowing, leaf-like layers) going for a while. But as it grew shaggy, the sides puffed out and the back of my head got heavy, and I couldn't manage it at all... (T_T)

Only For You Jamsilsaenae Branch is on the 3rd floor of 39 Baekjegobun-ro 7-gil, Songpa-gu, Seoul, and it's open 11:00-22:00 (until 20:00 on Sundays).

The salon is a really short walk from Saenae Station. It's easy to reach by public transport since it's so close to the subway, and if you drive, you get up to 3 hours of free parking, so you can visit without any stress.

A 60-pyeong salon, a Devialet speaker, open until 10 p.m. year-round

Inside, the shop is about 60 pyeong (roughly 200 m²), so it felt spacious and really comfortable. The open layout meant I never felt cramped while waiting. There's also a pricey Devialet speaker on one side of the shop, and the music sounded fantastic. You could really tell they sweat the small details.

On top of that, they're open until 10 p.m. all year round, which is perfect for office workers like me who have to go to the salon late after work on weekdays. They also accept local currency vouchers and Naver Pay, which I liked even more :)

How did the 1:1 consultation with designer Q go?

When I sat down, they first brought me a cold drink and a light snack. My semi leaf cut was done by designer Q, a specialist in men's hair.

Before cutting, we did a 1:1 consultation while he carefully checked the condition of my hair.

I told him I'd been growing out a leaf cut, but that it had become too bulky and hard to style.

Designer Q checked even the shape of my head and the direction my hair grows, then set the design direction: keep the soft flow of my old leaf cut, but take off a bit of length for an easy-care semi leaf cut.

After blow-drying, my once-shaggy hair had transformed into something much lighter, sleeker and neat. He cut it so the fringe flows naturally into the sides, so these days I just aim the dryer in the right direction and tousle it dry in the morning, and it falls into a nice shape easily.

With no wax or spray, just one light essence, I'm ready to head out, so my morning prep time has dropped a lot.

He also kept the volume at the back round and pretty, so the overall head shape looks much more three-dimensional. Designer Q checked my hair carefully from start to finish and created a trendy style. I really loved it ^_^
