Why I keep going back to Miraehoegwan Hannam, a Hannam-dong BBQ spot
Miraehoegwan Hannam (미래회관 한남) is a Hannam-dong BBQ restaurant where the staff grill the meat for you from start to finish. When I think of tasty meat in Hannam-dong, there's one place that naturally comes to mind, and this time too, while hunting for a BBQ spot, I thought of Miraehoegwan Hannam and went back.
Even when the meat is great, getting the timing right when you grill it yourself isn't easy. At Miraehoegwan the staff do it all from start to finish, so you can just focus on eating, and that's the biggest plus. Between the taste and the service, it's a Hannam-dong BBQ place I'm happy to return to.

Parking at Miraehoegwan Hannam: is there valet?
Miraehoegwan Hannam's main branch has valet parking and takes reservations. Hannam-dong has lots of great restaurants, but parking is a pain at many of them. Here, valet meant driving was no worry at all.

Thanks to the reservation, we got in without any wait, and the staff were friendly from the very first greeting, so the meal started on a good note. The interior is clean and has a nice atmosphere, well suited to dates, family dinners or group gatherings.

What we ordered at Miraehoegwan: aged pork belly and gabrisal

This time at Miraehoegwan Hannam we ordered the aged pork belly and gabrisal (가브리살, pork neck). The restaurant is said to be famous for serving premium domestic meat dry-aged, and after trying it myself, I get why so many people come.

The staff grilled the meat for us at its tastiest. That meant no worrying about the grill, just chatting and enjoying the meal, and eating at the perfect moment was especially satisfying.

How did the aged pork belly and gabrisal taste?

Miraehoegwan's aged pork belly was really tender despite its thickness, and the gabrisal had a chewy bite and rich meaty flavor. I started with the pork belly: golden on the outside, juicy and moist inside, with a nutty richness that deepened the more I chewed.
The gabrisal I had next had a different charm from the pork belly. The chewy texture and rich meaty flavor made every single bite fun, and I thought ordering both was a good call. Maybe because the meat is aged, the flavor was deep overall and a clean aftertaste lingered.

Why the cooked bean sprouts and special sauce stood out

What stuck with me most at Miraehoegwan Hannam was eating the meat with cooked bean sprouts. You usually get raw vegetables, but here the cooked sprouts stayed crunchy and went really well with the juices of the meat.

Adding Miraehoegwan's own special sauce brought out the flavor of the meat even more and gave it a fresh twist. The same meat tastes different depending on how you eat it, so I never got tired of it right to the end.

How was the service at Miraehoegwan Hannam?
While grilling the meat, the Miraehoegwan Hannam staff carefully looked after the order of eating and how well done each piece was. Taste isn't the only reason to come back to Miraehoegwan. They noticed what we needed before we asked, so we were comfortable throughout the meal.
With such attentive service, I thought it's a great place for a family dinner, a date, or hosting guests.

Miraehoegwan Hannam, a Hannam-dong BBQ spot: still worth it the second time?
Miraehoegwan Hannam, which I remembered while looking for a BBQ place, was once again a satisfying choice. Both the aged pork belly and gabrisal had excellent flavor and juiciness, and thanks to the staff grilling for us, we could enjoy the meat at its best with no effort.
Valet parking made the visit easy, and the combination of cooked bean sprouts and special sauce was memorable. Taste, service and atmosphere all satisfied me at this Hannam-dong BBQ spot. Next time I crave meat in Hannam-dong, I'll surely go back.
