Seocho Korean restaurant Halla-san seafood set: Naegohyang Jeju
In short
Naegohyang Jeju is a Korean restaurant near Naebang Station in Seocho, Seoul, serving Jeju-style seafood meals. After reserving a private room, I tried the 48,000 won Halla-san sashimi set with thick-cut sashimi, enormous grilled hairtail, seafood stew, and abalone pot rice. Verdict: a comfortable pick for family gatherings or company dinners.

I visited Naegohyang Jeju, a great Korean restaurant in Bangbae-dong. It is close to Naebang Station on Line 7 and is known for its nourishing abalone pot rice. A new Halla-san sashimi set had just come out, so I went to try it. I was amazed by the incredible length of the Jeju silver hairtail, caught by fishing and grilled, and this was a place where I could enjoy seafood stew, braised mackerel with aged kimchi, and thick-cut sashimi all in one spread~😊 Since it is a restaurant with private rooms, it would also be a nice place for a Chuseok family gathering, right in front of the main gate of the Bangbae e-Pyeonhansesang Apartments.

Getting there from Naebang Station

Naegohyang Jeju is within walking distance of Naebang Station. A neighborhood bus also goes right up to the front, so it is easy to get there, and there is a parking lot behind the restaurant. It is in the commercial building directly in front of the Bangbae e-Pyeonhansesang Apartments, so it was easy to find.
What are the private rooms and dining hall like?
I went for an early dinner right when the 5 p.m. break time ended. Since I had reserved through Catchtable, I was shown straight to a private room.
The dining hall was clean and spacious, and there were plenty of rooms, so it seems like a great spot for a family gathering or company dinner near Naebang Station in Bangbae-dong during the upcoming Chuseok holiday.

The two of us ordered the Halla-san sashimi set at ₩48,000 each and a cola for ₩3,000. It comes with salad, five seasonal sashimi varieties, three kinds of seafood, fried items, seafood stew, six side dishes, Jeju grilled silver hairtail, braised mackerel with aged kimchi, and a wellness abalone pot-rice set.
First came five kinds of sashimi, salad, and side dishes. I was happy to spot silver hairtail sashimi. It was so chewy! 🥰

The sashimi was cut so thick that it filled my mouth and had such a satisfying bite!

Giant Jeju grilled silver hairtail and seafood stew
Then came the highlight of the Halla-san menu: a giant Jeju silver hairtail caught by fishing. If someone in your family is sad they could not travel to Jeju for Chuseok, comfort them here! You can absolutely have a Jeju restaurant experience right in Bangbae-dong, Seoul!

The seafood stew arrived with six whole abalones inside. We shared them nicely, three each~ 🥰
Braised mackerel with aged kimchi and fried items came out too.

Abalone pot rice packed with hijiki
The abalone pot rice arrived, and I liked it even more because it was full of hijiki seaweed. It was so delicious wrapped in the salted seafood, seasoned sauce, and gim (roasted seaweed) that came with it, and it was also so good topped with the savory silver hairtail!
