The Bangpaje is a sashimi restaurant in Minrak-dong, Suyeong, Busan, running since 1982. The seasonal mixed sashimi set S arrived with sea bass, milchi, flounder and jeomseongeo separated and labeled, with good thickness, firmness and side dishes. With private rooms on the 2nd floor and a banquet hall on the 3rd, plus parking support, it suits family gatherings and small group dinners near Gwangalli.
Deodo Gejang is a Korean restaurant serving marinated seafood set meals on the first floor of the Hanil Ordu building in Marine City, Haeundae, Busan. Two people ordered the assorted marinated seafood and nutrient pot rice set (28,000 won per person), which arrived with soy-marinated crab, shrimp, abalone and octopus plus grilled fish, soup, jeon (savory pancake) and a pot of rice, close to a full Korean course meal. Deodo Gejang suits big eaters and family outings with parents or young children.
Low & Sweet Bakery is a bakery café tucked in a side alley off Haeridan-gil in Haeundae, Busan. This visit was a decaf iced latte for 6,300 won paired with an egg tart and two baked cookies, and the decaf latte turned out surprisingly nutty and smooth — the standout of the day. There was no salt bread left to try, but the egg tart alone made this a café worth revisiting.
